*Official* India Tour of England 2018

Deserve to lose if we pick Kuldeep over Jadeja. That being said, Jadeja just might pick up a 6-fer as is his knack but at the outset anyway it smells of conservative, unenterprising thinking.

Rankings don't tell the truth but Jadeja is currently the no.3 bowler in the world and no.2 allrounder. Yes, that's been in Indian conditions and he's more effective on turners but he's come a long long way since his past overseas tours. The pitches in the series against England were very good batting tracks and both sides scored 400-600 consistently and he was our best bowler in the series and had the English batsmen on toast.

On top of that he's a very useful batsman -> remember we have to be "unenterprising" or "conservative" given our batting track record of late. We can't have Ashwin at 7 and 4 no.11s from 8-11.

Plus Jadeja's the best fielder in the world. Absolute gun, anywhere around the ground. One runout can really change the momentum of the match as we saw last match.

If rumours are believed then Chepu and Jadeja are in for next match. Chepu is in for Dhawan. Not sure who is replaced by Jadeja.
What website is this from ??

Our batting is so bad we may need to play Jadeja instead of Umesh to be honest. But then Pandya will be the 3rd seamer :/

Jaddu's the safer pick. Kuldeep would be the more adventurous one who could take a flat pitch out of the equation if he gets on a roll.

Why does Pandya play tests when he hardly bowls. Has taken 7 wickets in 8 tests. Is he playing as a specialist batsman? Play a batsman if you want a batsman.

He's bowled 102 overs across 14 innings - 8 per innings

We may as well play a pure batsman and have Kohli/Vijay/Dhawan bowl those overs instead

But here's the kicker - based on the first test, Pandya is one of our best batsmen lol

Yeah if you don't count for the fact that he was dropped in the first innings, much like Kohli, survived about half a dozen near misses - some of which were overturned thanks to DRS. Lastly he came into bat at 8 in the second innings and exposed Ishant unnecessarily to Rashid, so not much of a lower order bat who can play with the tail either.

It's 7.2*, but an over in progress is always counted as an over completed, so you round it up.

7.2 overs - the actual number is 7.3, but .3 of an over is 2 balls, so 7.2, before you pendents pick on this.
Nah I'm pretty sure you just divided the number wrong. It's k.

in all Proper Capitalisation seriousness, i think us mods didn't really realise it was quite this horrible. i kind of had my suspicions because every time i wandered into cricket chat the chances that i would read some momentally tedious five-page catfight between the same people (and mr miyagi isn't the only one who was responsible for that) were pretty close to 100%. but it was kind of hard to tell just how atmosphere-killing it was because frankly no one wanted to spend the time reading through all those threads, spending lots of time babysitting threads and hardly anyone was reporting anything (except marc, who reports absolutely everything). so yeah it did take a while. last few weeks it was pretty clear something had to happen though.

LOL, for a person who keeps insulting every one in every second post of his, that's quite funny.
