I'd argue that Barnes did more for England than Sterling has ever shown us.So Sterling is a modern day John Barnes then.
Yeah, I think the Tunisia goal is a blip rather than a serious indication of where the game's heading.Tunisia not looking so good today.
EDIT: I was going to delete this but I'm a man of my convictions.
In the future this is how he will be remembered but I guess currently many focus on the lumbering oaf he became in his last couple of yearsNo. Prime Rooney was a monster and actually played some of his best football for his country.
NopeI do remember Rooney playing extremely well in some matches for England, but he always seemed to miss important games. Is that an accurate impression?
Sounds about right. He (Rooney) was very exciting in Euro 2004 from what I remember, and hardly did anything of note in any other international tournament. Was unlucky to get injured before the World Cup in 2006 and should never have played that tournament.

Indeed. 50 goals for England, you can make whatever you want of various things but that speaks for itselfHe was quite good in multiple qualifying campaigns iirc.
Indeed. But he got there eventually, and there's the 5 I predicted.Batshuayi
