Making runs for fun at Somerset.Call Renshaw up I say, it baffles me the investment in short after one BBL

Starting to look more and more like Short was just in an unusually rich vein of form during the BBL and he's not actually that goodCall Renshaw up I say, it baffles me the investment in short after one BBL
Lol you think they would do any better? Literally our 6 first-choice bowlers are injured. Maybe 7. This may be the weakest bowling attack in our international history but it's not like there's much better available. This gets less astonishing the more I consider our attack.
Two guys who have barely played professional cricket and have been forced in via the pathway at the expense of those more deserving. Supplemented by a guy whose call to fame was batting too low on debut, a guy who is pits at FC and relies on a gimmick to take wickets in LO matches, and a fella who is only there because he swung a dukes ball for an FC season or two and because someone on the selection panel forgot what a white ball is. Plus Kane Richardson, which says it all really.
I mean I know this ain't the finest side we could put out ideally, but good god even an A-team with a handicap of D'arcy Short should at least compete to some degree with an international side.
Time to apologize to Mennie, Worrall and Tremain lads.
Agar's basically been the best bowler in the last 2 games. Anyway he's just holding the spot until Pope comes through in a couple yearsI am unclear how anyone can have watched Agar bowl in this series and be even slightly impressed. He's village.
Zampa should be back in the side.
I am bit concerned with how England played the death overs. No shame in losing to the greatest LO team ever assembled.
Remove England's two best batsmen and make them play their third string bowling attack then see what the deal is.No shame in losing to the greatest LO team ever assembled.
I don't know it's still a pretty strong team. Stronger than full-strength Aus would be IMO, at least in these conditions.Remove England's two best batsmen and make them play their third string bowling attack then see what the deal is.
Yeah bad time to bring up England's two best batsmen when they scored 20 odd runs in total last night.I don't know it's still a pretty strong team. Stronger than full-strength Aus would be IMO, at least in these conditions.
This English team is tailor-made for roads, and they'll be hard to beat in 2019 at home where they can control the pitches they play on. Only danger is if they actually have peaked at the wrong time and a few guys lose form around next year. (here's hoping)
That the's funny thing about the England team, they'are already playing a weakened team in both batting and bowling with irreplaceable allrounders Stokes and Woakes missing.Remove England's two best batsmen and make them play their third string bowling attack then see what the deal is.
I've yet to see them really play on anything other than a road (maybe Adelaide last year where they were 5/8, which showed the top order was susceptible to early movement). Maybe they'd still be the best, but it doesn't matter anyway.England have done consistently well, and not just on wickets which were prepared by them.
They wouldn't be overwhelming favourites in Asia, or even favourites IMO.They would be the overwhelming favourites to lift the World Cup, even if it were to be held somewhere outside England.
I don't how much difference Stokes makes tbh. They look just as strong without him unless someone's injured and they have to play Billings. That the's funny thing about the England team, they'are already playing a weakened team in both batting and bowling with irreplaceable allrounders Stokes and Woakes missing.
Hales isn't even in their full strength side anymore (well he wasn't before last night anyway).
But even if you take out Root and Morgan, you still have all these runs from Buttler, Bairstow, Hales and Roy. When Stokes and Woakes are back - them too. Even Ali has been making runs for them.
It is nothing like their test team where they just look weak and pathetic without Root and Cook.
Stokes and Hales - I am pretty sure Stokes has more runs than him since 2016 and has done it at 5, not opening or at 3, but even if deemed to be similar, its the difference that Stokes makes to the bowling. He gives the team 6 proper options and more at the back end, instead of getting through bonus Root overs up top and relying on Rashid more at the death.I don't how much difference Stokes makes tbh. Stokes doesn't seem much use as a bowler in LO anyway, and Hales showed that he's valuable. I'm not saying he definitely wouldn't make the team stronger, but I don't know if he definitely does either. Maybe not to Carlos Brathwaite, but he has had plenty of better days than that.Stokes doesn't seem much use as a bowler in LO anyway, and Hales showed that he's valuable.
