It certainly feels odd in a very good way to see Surrey actually producing some decent home-grown talent again. It's been a while; best part of 30 years actually.

There is certainly a place for medium pacers that are deadly accurate and can move it off the seam in certain conditions. The first innings scorecard speaks for itself with Stevens taking 2-33 off 10. I'm surprised to be honest more teams don't realise they can be highly effective in certain conditions and in some cases all conditions. Philander's stats say a lot to support the case for quality medium pace . The recovery to post 300 plus by Worcestershire was very surprising to be honest

Nobody really knows - that is the point. They dropped him from the captaincy for some unexplained reason, then dropped him completely. It is curious.
