No use of acuteness or acuity in this post at all.

Burgey, I really am not all that interested in your career memoirs, whether they be works of fiction or non-fiction. No offence.

You seem to be under the impression that I have not encountered dumb ass judges or QC's with more than 25 years actual and real law experience.

I'll cut to the chase. I have.
You seem to be under the impression that everyone you've encountered is below your intellectual plane.

Not in the least. But I am not one appealing to qualifications here. You should be more than well aware of my aversion to commit this fallacy already Starfighter when you pressed me on the topic.

Burgey seems to think his last 25 years is relevant to a debate about a choice of words. I am yet to be convinced.

That or he’s a recidivist criminal.
Why not a vexatious litigant? This is what I had you penned as to be honest.

And there's many more options. Those born in lawyer raised or fraternising families for instance. These options are hardly binary nor mutually exclusive.

Back to your point, what has you being a lawyer allegedly for 25 years got to do with acuity vs acuteness? Or are you just fallaciously appealing to authority?

omg if Mr Miyagis 25 years of experience with law is simply "my mom and dad are lawyers" i might actually die of laughter

And whether true or not, it makes 0 difference to my argument. Because I am not the one appealing to my authority and qualifications on acuity and acuteness.

I find it not only fallacious, but just plain rude and insulting to regular people.

omg so is it true? Tell me it's true. Please Mr Miyagi. Are you a lawyer with 25 years of experience as well, or are you a 20 smth year old whose parents are lawyers and you just tried to pass that off as being the same thing???

*****, believe what you want to believe. Either way, I knew more about expert witnesses being called by judges in Australia than Burgey did, which still seems to upset him (I get why it would upset him, I'm not even convinced he is a lawyer after that encounter).

Who cares who I am?

Just like who cares if you've been a lawyer for 25 years or not when you correct acuteness with acuity.

Burgey, treat forum users with respect, you don't need to give them the entire 25 year history of your supposed legal career when you try to erroneously correct them unless in the subjective name of art. I for one, am not interested in your career (or even believing for that matter) nor your subjective views on art in a cricket thread.

Just stay on point and be polite. It isn't difficult.

tbh I never thought Burgey was a lawyer either. I just figured his high needs aged care facility had a working internet connection and other than post here there wasn't much else to do between yelling at the nurses to give him back his teeth.

Are you single? Do you still live with your parents? How was it that you came to support NZ? When you say you know people who are lawyers, are they family members, and if so which ones?

***** would like to know the answers to these questions....

I still can't get over Mr Miyagi suggesting that because his parents were lawyers he has an extensive enough knowledge on law to rival someone who is an actual lawyer*

I mean fair enough, none of this should matter, and Mr Miyagi clearly doesn't get the joke, but this revelation is so fantastic.

*he hasn't denied this so I am taking it as fact

Well I am pleased that ***** is so interested in me as a person. When my personal authority or qualifications remotely matters, I will gladly share the relevant details.

Why were lawyers? Are you assuming they're dead or just retired?
