Do you mean in this case, or in general?Yeah because they can't come up with a name who can replace the out of form batsman.

Because the selectors are ********.I really don't understand why a Porter or a Coad wasn't tried out against Pakistan. Seemed the perfect time to introduce a hungry upcoming talent.
Averages 5.83 from six innings this season! What happened to that Hameed guy for England ?

Is that better or worse than last season?Averages 5.83 from six innings this season!
Not recovered any form after breaking his finger against India. Good thing is he is so young there is plenty of time for him to come again. What happened to that Hameed guy for England ?
Cause all through the winter they were criticised for not having any pace and now they're trying to over compensate by picking a guy who apparently has pace but in practice never ever produces that in the test arena and has very poor ODI and test records. What would happen if they picked Porter and he sucked? They'd get hammered cause he's just the same as everything else, England have no variety.I really don't understand why a Porter or a Coad wasn't tried out against Pakistan. He may have been a good pick for playing on Australian wickets; those guys can't produce a decent cricket pitch even if you put a gun to their pet kangaroo's head.Cause all through the winter they were criticised for not having any pace and now they're trying to over compensate by picking a guy who apparently has pace
No, Nick Compton was an abject failure in every single way.Bayliss has advanced a culture of attacking batsmanship that has worked wonders in the LO scene. In test cricket, Root, Bairstow, Stokes, Buttler play a brand of cricket that maynot be ideal against a swinging ball. Ideally your top 4 should have solid defensive technique - and slow cricket should be the first option for them until and unless the team is in a safe situation when pushing for quick runs can cause little harm. tbh Root has a good defensive technique, but as a modern cross-format batsman he doesn't display that skill very often. Unfortunately only an aging Cook plays that way. England needs a couple of batsmen to play the role that Jonathan Trott used to. Even a Nick Compton would do in the current scenario.
Very good bowler though not as good Asif who was on target to reach Pollock level greatness if not McGrath if he had kept his straight and I am not talking just about the spot fixing scandal I have seldom seen a bowler getting top class batsman out with so many jaffas.really liked what I saw of Mohammad Abbas. Reminds me a bit of Asif. Relies on subtle movements off the seam to get batsmen out.
I hope he develops over the course of the next few years and doesn't fall by the wayside.

Abbas is a very consistent wicket to wicket bowler he does not bowl as many unplayable balls as Asif or Phialnder however he is always at the batsman and gives them no opportunity to relax at any stage. I have still doubts over his long term impact with the Kokkaburra ball on flat pitches when batsmen have worked out some plans against him but nevertheless a very good addition in the squad and will play a pivotal role in overseas tours.
https://www.smh.com.au/sport/cricket/lillee-was-the-best-bowler-i-played-against-20111027-1mm7c.htmlDennis himself thinks his results might have been even better overall had he bowled more like Richard Hadlee, concentrating on line and length. But he never could resist the lure of the interpersonal battle with the batsman, and this led to Dennis's more varied approach: inviting strokes, risking bouncers and yorkers.

No winning as an England selector
