Dinosaur like Yuvraj don't have a place in this team; he's there because of past glory, and that he can pull crowds to the stadiums (the kids at cricinfo were hoping that he was gonna hit six sixes again).Don't think I ever seen such a stupid team as Punjab. Ashwin only bowling three overs and the truly abysmal supposedly all rounder mug that is a proven IPL failure in Stoinis stinking it up with both bat and ball.
I assume as Hodge is in charge he demanded it. He is cut from the same school of nepotism disgusting selections as the equally useless Daniel Vettori.
Harsh on Rahul as he was awesome to be surrounded with cowards and trash though.
Let's not get carried away. Kohli in 2016 IPL was Bradman-esque - scored close to 1000 runs including 3 centuries IIRCKL alone once again.
This is a better performance than Kolhi 2016

Nah, KL Rahul is on legendary status. I rate him higher than top Gym Rat Kohli.Let's not get carried away. Kohli in 2016 IPL was Bradman-esque - scored close to 1000 runs including 3 centuries IIRC
Funny how every year its the same for punjab and preity zinta. I actually feel for preity zinta because clearly she's very enthusiastic about the game let it be ipl onlyDon't think I ever seen such a stupid team as Punjab. Its tricky to really know what is going wrong with Punjab. There has always been an Aussie click in the side which I can't imagine is good when things go badly. I do recall a few of them finding slightly banal reasons to leave early when things were going very badly. Ultimately however Hodge should shoulder a lot of blame, its a very average side bar a few guns like Rahul, Tye and to an extent Gayle. It's absurd with the money the lack of depth in this side, Rahul the pressure he must have been placed on himself to finish it as he knew there was few runs in Axar, Yuvi, Tiwary and Aussie Marcus. Not even any of the bowlers could smack itFunny how every year its the same for punjab and preity zinta. It's still weird to me how McClenenenenen just goes under the radar quietly getting pretty decent numbers.
Weird in what way? That he gets decent numbers? Or goes under the radar when getting decent numbers?
He started the season horribly, continuing on from his poor BBL,and missed a few games, and then has had very good numbers this past month.
But teammate Bumrah just completely outshines him.

When Mitch was bowling poorly at the start, MI had both Bumrah and Mustafizur bowling better (and doing the death together).
I find it weird that Mitch is playing ahead of Mustafizur, is Fizz injured? Or is MI going on form?
I don't know if Fizz is injured; but IIRC, he didn't do much better than what McClenaghan is doing now when he played.I find it weird that Mitch is playing ahead of Mustafizur, is Fizz injured? Or is MI going on form?

I guess if quotas had not come in the way, both would have been in the playing eleven. Which is a lot more than what can be said for many of the overseas players in this IPL.
On the whole, the Kiwis have done well in this IPL; with Williamson, Boult and McClenaghan featuring in the top ten lists.
I was looking at the number of wickets rather than the economy. Even in T20, I would prefer a bowler who took two wickets for 40 over someone who took no wickets for 25.I'll forgive you for overlooking CDG at 6th by virtue of being a part-time bowler, but Ish Sodhi is currently placed 2nd on the E/R lists at under 6 runs an over!

It is wickets that arrest the overall scoring late.
No you were looking at total wickets, and not bowling averages :P
Sodhi's average for wickets will make the top 10,
