Few changes with the youth in Victoria, Christian not getting a contract maybe a bit of a surprise but then gets the consolation prize of three years with the Renegades; reckon he'll still play a role in 2018/19 for Vics.

surprised Thomson was cut, only 20 and was pretty gutsy in the ODD stuff, made that 166 in premier cricket too

Yeah, with some of the young guys they've brought in, there's been some young guys pushed out. He was the least impressive of the young Melbourne bats (Harper, Gotch, Pucovski) over the past twenty four months but had a good finals series last year.

Thinking when he played for the Vics at Shep MCG 1 day in the distant past, knocked them out of the ground.

Tend to think Blizzard was underused by the Thunder last season. You can at least rely on him to get on with it, unlike younger guys like KPat and especially Gibson who tended to start slowly.

That's an understatement. He was batting at like 7 or even 8 behind some truly useless T20 players. Even all-rounders, Nair batted ahead of him every game I think.

Absolute waste

Nair could be a handy bowler if he gets his action sorted out, that is a very big if though. No idea why the Thunder continued selecting him after he had been called, nowhere near good enough to make it on batting alone.

Nair is his action. His entire (perceived) value as a bowler, and as a player, is based on his unusual bowling action and what he does with it. If he's forced to play within the rules he's useless. I don't even see him being as useful as Narine as a batsman.

Wait, he actually got called on it? Absolutely missed that

Interesting chat with Bert tonight. To say everyone is scratching their heads is an understatement.
