This is extraordinary:

The widespread change means that, according to CA’s junior talent guru Nick Duxson, that 28 of the contracted 150 state-based players this summer came through the pathway programs last year, that being eligible for state under-17 and under-19 representation or playing at the under-19 World Cup or in the series against Pakistan in December.
20% of the state contracted players are 20 or under. Jeepers.

Not exactly a huge number of batsmen either

What are your thoughts on all these pathways programs? Although I haven’t experienced it, I’ve felt young talent is better off exposed to tough grade cricket rather than being protected in u19s etc. Sick or swim.

Nathan Rimmington? He should have retired years ago. I doubt he's even close to first-class standard anymore. Perfect for the County Championship actually.
You do persist with that, yet your first-class is just a trial session for the Aussie national team. Spectators actually support and turn-up at the games in our cc.

I was hoping he'd bring some general ''Australian expertise'' to Durham County Cricket Clue such as sandpapering the ball, lying, etc etc. Might help us out?

Another day, another Hilton bowled.

Credit to him though, think he went two matches without that dismissal there.

Just had another glance at the program for the next Australian summer. FMD. A thrilling denouement with SL heading out here for two tests after India finish up. Seven and Foxtel must be really ****ing thrilled with that line up to kick start the new era of broadcasting.

Thought Perrin looked a good bowler from what little I have seen of him, surprised he wasn't called upon more by Tasmania. Can't see him being selected by the Vics though, with Fekete also returning and young guys like Agar Jr and Xavier Crone waiting for an opportunity. Seems a bit of a shame really.
