Use Ireland as a warm-up or something, just give the fellas some game time.

Better to play a test than some warm up against a 2nd Div side half filled with seconds or uni players.
Australia and England tried this before the India tours by stopping over at Bangladesh

Worked out well for them

They're playing Afghanistan tho!
Ye that's good move, every team should have to play a smaller nation when they tour a big one

England - Ireland
India/Pakistan - Afghanistan (or Bangladesh not for their quality but for how few games they get)
Australia - PNG (ODI would probably be better at this point)
South Africa - Zimbabwe and/or Kenya

It's been suggested before, but you get absolutely 0 value from playing Clive the postman in Queensland's 3rd XI.

Good suggestion 91Jmay. imo teams touring Australia should play NZ just to warm up against some lower quality opposition.

And everyone who fails to get an IPL contract can do the next best thing - play in the HT20 Blitz

Nah, that would bankrupt the poor little Kiwis.

Maybe the NCZB can reduce costs by cutting players' salaries, and letting them come over and play the T20 Blitz instead. Might help them be able to afford more Tests, and who knows, they may discover more HK talents to poach too.

Rain is forecast in the afternoon. Ireland just need to somehow get through another 20 overs IMO.

I'm quite excited about this!

IMHO, we're not too far away from the point where a Pakistan win becomes improbable. Sure enough, if they pick up the last 3 wickets for not too many, they should get there without too much trouble. Survive until lunch!

Around what time?

Kevin O'Brien hit an unbeaten 118 to become Ireland's maiden Test centurion as the hosts fought back against Pakistan on day four in Malahide.

How many ranking points will Pakistan lose if this is a draw. I tried to check on test rankings predictor, but it didn't work

If Pak break this sooner, rather than later (edit: they just did), it's not that going to be easy.
Boyd Rankin gets out in FC, once every 23 deliveries. That's probably a bit clouded by some tail-end slogging. Tim Murtaugh, judging by his FC-stats, is actually a decent bat!
