*Official* Pakistan tour of Ireland, England and Scotland 2018

If Ireland somehow wins this match, Netherlands deserve Test status too because they pulled off a draw against Ireland last year on same pitch

This is a good enough lead for the standard Pakistan 4th innings chase. Go 3-4 down for approx nothing on the board, play out 50 maiden overs afterwards , mad blood rush for 5 overs losing 2-3 more wickets , good partnership taking them close - falling short by 10 runs after at least one comical run out.

Problem is Ireland don't have a spinner to thrive on last day pitch. Don't see Pakistan losing even if Murtagh and Rankin take 2 wickets in the first spell.

Must admit I didn't watch or record any of the day's play - thought it was pretty much game over. Happy to be wrong! Sounds like another heroic effort from KOB. I'll have to watch some highlights.

''Kevin O'Brien's Ashes'' if they pull it off, although one of the bowler's will have to occupy the Bob Willis role.

Exciting match. Streaky, comical fielding, umpiring gaffes: this often makes for entertaining cricket, especially for neutrals. How good was Amir?

It'll be very interesting if Ireland can build the lead up to 180-200 odd in half decent time. Will Pakistan go for it (weather permitting) or settle for a draw?

Yeah if it really is their only test til 2020 itl be half the team's only test not just Joyce's. The O'Brien are both in their mid 30s

If Ireland win here I can totally see sides ducking them to avoid further humiliation

*cough* Australia *cough*

The masterminds at BCCI, with remarkable prescience, have already done that. As always, India is a step ahead of the Aussies.

They slipped up badly in the case of Afghanistan though. Playing in June, the chances are high that India would be embarrassed by the visiting spinners.

You have accused the BCCI of ducking and then mocked them for not ducking in the same post.

Wouldn’t be surprised if most countries touring England don’t add a match tbf.
Use Ireland as a warm-up or something, just give the fellas some game time.

Better to play a test than some warm up against a 2nd Div side half filled with seconds or uni players.
