Wait, are you guys saying the CA live pass won’t work for ODIs unless you have a Foxtel account?

These ****s are going to hear from me this morning.
Unfortunately that appears to be the case. Otherwise $30-odd for the ODIs and T20s would have been a pretty damn good deal.

Sutherland is the Australian Tom Harrison. It won't be too long until he starts using the term, ''future-proofing cricket''.

Barham being in charge of Channel 7's cricket coverage is good news. Was the man behind Ch 10's Big Bash coverage.

I juet read this..

Fox Sports have added another five superstar commentators to their cricket coverage for the upcoming summer, with Mark Waugh, Mel Jones, Mike Hussey, Isa Guha and Michael Vaughan signing on with the pay-television broadcaster.

Really happy with the choices, especially Mel Jones. Im not huge on Huss the commentatar yet but its the type of group where I think he will get better.

Commentator on Triple M and TMS, former female cricketer for England. She's quality.

Like the Jones and Guha appointments, less convinced re: Waugh, Vaughan or Hussey though.

It says a lot about 9's team that none of them have been contracted yet and only really Warne and Slater have been talked about as possibilities.

Just googled and saw pics. Here's hoping they hire Chris Gayle alongside her and see what happens.

I think it's a good team. Vaughan and Waugh will talk a lot of **** and have weird, sometimes biased opinions, which you need. Especially when the other guy is Hussey who's never going to say a single controversial thing but will have some knowledgeable insights. Jones similar to Hussey, Good combination IMO.

Bill Lawry is headed to 7. I think Mark Nicholas would have been but he's too closely linked to 9, being their head.

Apparently not:

Former Australian captain Bill Lawry is set to retire from cricket commentating.

The man famous for the lines “got him, yes” or “it’s all happening” had been approached by Fox Sports and Channel 7.

It was rumoured that Foxtel wanted to bring Lawry on board in a part-time role to call the Boxing Day Test – as he’d done in recent years for Channel 9 having cut back on his duties.

But he’s knocked them back.
Phil Rothfield though so....

Also Chappelli was decent but not loved so there was no need for 7 to pick him up.

Taylor, Slater, Healy all summed up the image of everything wrong with 9 commentary. I can't see them being picked up for a couple of years.

What I'm hoping for is more international voices on 7. I really love the foreign commentators. They add colour and a different perspective to the matches.

That would probably be on a series by series basis though. Get a commentator or 2 from whichever country are touring like 9 used to do sometimes.

I can't wait to hear Jones and Guha's opinions on power hitting. Truly the diversity we deserve.
