There's no way Cook's getting dropped. Too much potential to improve once he's back in home conditions. He might retire of course.
23 runs in 4 innings @ 5.75? You sound more confident than Cook himself would be.

Ross Taylor had a few lean series like that when he was struggling with his eye during 2015-16, and I don't recall anyone calling for his axing (well blocky was, but we all know he doesn't count as a human being). There's no one approaching his class in England, he's definitely staying there until the start of the India series. If he does badly there and England go down a test then I could see him getting dropped, but not before.

I think the chances of him being dropped a very low. Our numbers 2 and 3 have literally never scored a test century in a combined 20 matches themselves (Cook has two doubles in his last 10) and are only really not about to get the chop themselves because we've exhausted all our options and no one is banging the door down.

Yeah second all the thoughts that no way is Cook getting dropped. Simply not happening.

But I wouldn't be at all surprised if he pulled the pin on it before the English summer.

feels good man. what a great scrap from the bowlers

great game, full credit to the English for coming back strong in the second test
Latham gonna Latham. Good effort, but he just doesn't seem to have it in him to bat long against good attacks. I was really hoping he'd eventually blossom into a top-class opener, but it looks like we're just going to have to settle for a guy who's usually good for seeing off the new-ball and who only goes on with it in the most friendly of circumstances.
We shouldn't settle at all. Hendrix's theory about his fitness/concentration after 80 balls always seems bang on to me. A Latham 80 is a proper openers 160. Chris Donaldson needs to chase him with a stick all winter.

Hard to be too harsh given he was so valuable today of course.
This is genuinely good ftr.
I went back and unliked it after you posted this plea
Nabbing Dravid would be wonderful, though it'd never happen.
Don't tease me like this

Remember watching de Grandhomme before his test debut in limited overs stuff. He may have even debuted against SA and I used to think what a hack when he bats and what a powder puff when he bowls.

Think we all felt when he got into the test team it wouldn't last. Even when he started well we thought it was only a matter of time.

Well Colin, you have proven a lot of people wrong. You were New Zealand's leading run scorer in these two games and you keep performing

Colin would be the type of player the current England system would turn into a limited overs specialist.

There is no way Cook will be dropped: he comes from the, ''right kind of family''.
Or you know it could be down to the 12000+ credits he's got in the bank, or the fact that we still haven't managed to find a serviceable opening partner for him in a 6 year search........or even maybe that he has been here before (a few times) and always finds a way to drag himself back up.

It's worth bringing this up actually given the current discussion about Cook. There's been a few times in the past when people have suggested dropping one of Cook/Broad/Anderson and yet over any prolonged period they've always significantly outperformed any other candidates for their place in the side.

And thank you for posting the text on here because Pietersen has actually gone one step further than SteveNZ and already blocked my twitter account.

Haha I actually only posted it because I hate having to go to Twitter to figure out what CW posts mean, and didn't want to subject others to that.

God it feels good to win something not against SL or WI
yeah. beating india and pakistan was nice too but there's always something satisfying about beating a team who are more familliar with our conditions and playing style than most.

pretty sure we have bangladesh and SL next summer lol. no one will show up and david white will cancel all test cricket like the paraplegic ****roach he is.
