I can't believe I ate the whole thing
I'm not really sure a batting coach will make that huge of a difference. Playing tons and tons of FC cricket might, so in that sense county cricket could help, but didn't he already have a stint in county cricket last year without much success?
How much long format cricket did he have after that though? Besides, one season doesn't make a cricketer, and if he's the best of a bad bunch he's going to miss Plunket Shield due to international honours in Test and ODIs. A couple more seasons of CC would do him wonders imo.

As for coach - different attitudes breed different temperaments. It wouldn't have much effect on people like Taylor who pretty much coach themselves, but Latham wouldn't really be "complete until 28/29 - most batsmen aren't.

Nabbing Dravid would be wonderful, though it'd never happen.
