I understand what Graeme Smith is saying at the moment, but Marsh has looked shot every time he's bowled. Taken about 10 minutes to get through an over.

With Marsh needing to be "nursed" a little, Sayers is even more necessary is being able to be a workhorse and allow Cummins and Hazelwood to attack more.

Cummins has been excellent

Come on Chadd, lets have some for the Warnie mozz. Starting to get a little bit of wobble that wasn't there the last few overs.

Considering the circumstances around this test match, Australia really needed the little things to go their way to be in this contest

Yep. I'd also argue that Sayers is a better new ball bowler than Richardson anyway, even if Richardson is more likely to get a breakthrough once the ball isn't moving as much. They basically took the punt on Sayers having 3/10 early on while the ball was still swinging, knowing he could ball this sort of stuff later in the day if it didn't go to plan and a partnership formed. He was a bit underwhelming with the new ball and the gamble on that front didn't pay off, but they'd have been chasing a lot more leather if the Richardson gamble came unstuck in the same way due to the nature of his bowling and the balance of the rest of the attack.

It's hard listening to Warne when we've all been highlighting how attitudes in Australian cricket have to change, and he's there disparaging Sayers.

Good spell this by Sayers.Looks more Stuart Clarkish now. I think he is better with the aged ball. Excellent seam position throughout.

Partnership of 74 and De Villiers is only on 20. That's got to be a pretty rare occurrence.

Markram won't be far off a double if he's there at stumps...
He'd have to go some to do that. Maybe 180 if he's still there.
Which I suppose isn't far off 200, if that's what you had in mind.
