Yeah even though the way they treated him (deservedly or not) undoubtedly played a large part, it was his own behaviour that left him open to it, and his own weakness that lead to him responding in the ways he did. The "blame" is squarely on Warner himself.https://www.smh.com.au/sport/cricke...or-a-team-out-of-control-20180330-p4z717.html
I thought this is a good article on Warner, it is very true regarding Warner been better behaved until they dropped Wade. I don't totally agree with some 'blame' being placed on QDK and the SA public (even though some of it has been disgraceful and embarrassing). Actions have consequences. But ultimately you read that and once again it comes down the the management of the team.... win at all cost, even if you sacrifice players.
I'm referring to Smith here when I say people make mistakes. We are human. Geezus, if I lived a life in the spotlight I'd have had some pressers to front in tears. I'm not inclined to think Smith is a bad person, he made a bad piece of judgement under duress. I've been as harsh as anyone on Australia's behaviour but watching Smith go through the airport and cry at the presser sucked. That was not deserved. The guy simply failed to stop cheating, he didn't cheat himself.I cannot believe how gullible people are over these press conferences, or ''pressers'' as they seem to be called now. They are crying because they got caught. Lehmann did not show much sympathy when he instructed the public to pelt Broad with abuse, yet now he is crying like a little girl.
waaaaaah Faf waaaaaaaaaaaaah
dude just get over itwaaaaaaaah
waaaaaaah at its finest
I'm really curious as to why they were put on separate flights. Craddock has a story on it, but it's paywalled.I'm referring to Smith here when I say people make mistakes. We are human. Warner, different story. Why can't he front a presser? Because he had a family there? Nah. It's because he is a **** of a human and knows his instinctual answers under emotional and pressure in a media conference won't help him at all (and probably CA knows as well). So because he's Davey Dum Dum he'll have a couple of days to pre-plan a response. Weak. We got to see the human side of Smith and hell, it made me feel sorry for him. Warner is a poor human being and continues to further prove himself as such as every opportunity.
Yeah while I sympathise with your anger social you've been going on for the last few days nonstopdude just get over it
Any why was Wade picked in the first place...https://www.smh.com.au/sport/cricke...or-a-team-out-of-control-20180330-p4z717.html

I read that article so it can't be on a paywall everywhere? Think I saw it on Herald Sun. It said CA deliberately put them on separate flights because of the level of animosity that *may* have existed between them. Having that play out in public might've left it open to interpretation if they walked past each other and said nothing etc. It could be a nothing story Craddock pulled out of his arse, I dunno. There's so much conjecture floating around in the media (surprise).I'm really curious as to why they were put on separate flights. Craddock has a story on it, but it's paywalled.
Yeah the paywalls on the News Ltd website are inconsistent at best. Tbf I didn't exactly try super hard to read it.I read that article so it can't be on a paywall everywhere? That's fine, but he's just lost the PR game again. He was already behind as the instigator of the whole thing, the sledging **** and the disgusting send-off of AB, and now Smith/Bancroft have fronted up and got the public back onside slightly by being human and giving honest pressers. Warner's is going to be a watered down, meaningless, scripted affair. Unfortunately for him he's dumb and emotive, so you are right in that he's combative and would've done as much damage by coming out swinging as he would've not showing up.Seems a bit harsh to dig the boots in for a deferred press conference. Everyone is different and I think Warner has decided the best route for him is some time to calm down and get some perspective. That just seems wise if he is in any way angry or bitter. Some people cry under pressure and others get combative. If Warner's the second kind he's made the right call.
What's Sonny Bill up to?I'm inclined to give Warner some leeway. But definitely lost the PR game. It's almost a comp now to be better than the Smith and Bancroft ones.
Smith came out with his dad. Bancroft, I think his mom. The optics of both those were pretty good.
Wonder who will stand by Warner. ,,
I find it a bit strange that he had a family there if you buy into the this wierd siege mentality defence that this article is making. Run with the thought that bringing the wife into it is so hurtful as to be unacceptable regardless of how Warner behaved. Fine, maybe the wife (and kids, although I'm not sure what the article is referring to) was deeply distressed. Why meet him at the airport then? Either the damage suffered by them is severe enough that he should want to protect them from the media and just meet them half an hour later, or he's using them as an emotional shield.Warner, different story. Why can't he front a presser? Because he had a family there?
It's hard to believe that some smart PR people were not involved.Smith came out with his dad. Bancroft, I think his mom. The optics of both those were pretty good
As Shri said earlier, Ashwin trying hard to sound oh-so-smart and talking gibberish in the process.Ashwin said:The world simply wants to see you cry, once you have cried they will feel satisfied and live happily ever after. If only Empathy was not just a Word and people still had it. God give @stevesmith49 and Bancroft all the strength to come out of this.
