Sutherland vs Easts (is Warner still there?) would be fascinating!
Smith doesn't have warner's past much easier to forgive Steve. It really is a fork in the road for him, and I hope he's got some cool heads advising him today
He can do massive repair work tomorrow, or alternatively massive damage (look at the way Smith turned the public around in 3 minutes)
Doing massive damage feels good for about a week, but he has his whole life and still five years of his career ahead of him
SHOW me your bloody badge!!!!!!!!!!I don't think he's up to it off the cuff to really deliver an apology and needs more time + some input from his manager and a good lawyer. He's got a lot to lose so he didn't risk a press conference yet.
As it stands he's ultimately to blame. When I think about it, he needs to explain:
1) why/how he came up with the idea
2) why he deserves another chance from CA
3) his recent behaviour on/off field
4) his motivations for tampering and how it fits with his view on how the game should be played winning/losing with integrity etc.
5) why his team mates should give him another chance
6) appeal or not

It does say a bit of his character/maturity that he has to wait to front the media whereas Smith and Bancroft could give convincing apologies/conferences straight away.Smith doesn't have warner's past much easier to forgive Steve.
Kane is his captain now in the IPL (was the other way around) and is genuinely the nicest guy in cricket. No surprise there. From the reactions of people on this forum (which is probably representative of what the general public feels about it), it would appear that Warner is in a desperate, no-win situation, Kane Williamson is the only person of any stature who has actually come out and said anything positive about him.
