Fears That Warner Could Go Nuclear Tomorrow
Hope he just shows some remorse, apologizes unconditionally for his part, and if he wants to appeal just say something measured such as he wants to exercise his right to a hearing.
I don't want to see a great 31-year old great player sort of make himself a pariah and block his own path back
He has many years ahead to live and it would be a shame if he becomes a freaky, isolated figure

I don't think he's up to it off the cuff to really deliver an apology and needs more time + some input from his manager and a good lawyer. He's got a lot to lose so he didn't risk a press conference yet.
As it stands he's ultimately to blame. When I think about it, he needs to explain:
1) why/how he came up with the idea
2) why he deserves another chance from CA
3) his recent behaviour on/off field
4) his motivations for tampering and how it fits with his view on how the game should be played winning/losing with integrity etc.
5) why his team mates should give him another chance
6) appeal or not

It really is a fork in the road for him, and I hope he's got some cool heads advising him today
He can do massive repair work tomorrow, or alternatively massive damage (look at the way Smith turned the public around in 3 minutes)
Doing massive damage feels good for about a week, but he has his whole life and still five years of his career ahead of him

Come to think of it, given what we've been told about his role. His options aren't that great in a self-preservation way of things.
1. Fling ****, go into scrupulous 'details', and burn the ashes of the bridge. People hate him more.
2. Go to Smith and Bancroft route, the bridge is still burned anyway from the looks of things. People might be swayed.
I wonder if the lawyers are any less likely for option 2 given the stakes for him.

If he wants to say explosive stuff about the incident, he should keep all that for when his appeal is heard
And he's totally entitled to say explosive stuff (if it's true) at the appeal
By "explosive stuff", I mean saying stuff that happened in the ball tampering incident that is not currently public knowledge

From the reactions of people on this forum (which is probably representative of what the general public feels about it), it would appear that Warner is in a desperate, no-win situation, Kane Williamson is the only person of any stature who has actually come out and said anything positive about him.
Smith doesn't have warner's past much easier to forgive Steve.

It does say a bit of his character/maturity that he has to wait to front the media whereas Smith and Bancroft could give convincing apologies/conferences straight away.
Kane is his captain now in the IPL (was the other way around) and is genuinely the nicest guy in cricket. No surprise there.
