***Official*** England in New Zealand 2018

Immenso

International Vice-Captain
Yup and Mt Maunganui Oval only been upgraded to an international venue about 3 years ago as well.

Vince gonna Vince.
In the last decade. In NZ. 'New' grounds elevated to international status.

We've had brand new grounds; Saxon Oval and Cobham Oval.
And redeveloped club fields; Hagley Oval, University Oval, Mt Maunganui.

All of them good cricket ovals and a far cry from what he used to have in Lancaster Park and Carisbrook with their concrete terraces and crush barriers.

Have synced up the tv with the radio sport commentary on account of how much I enjoyed listening to Jeremy Coney and Vic Marks in the last test. Unfortunately Brian Waddle is the first one on, and these days he's every bit as bad as the worst of the tv bunch - just a biased, crotchety, clueless old ****. Marks commented that England wouldn't lose a review over the Vince dismissal, and Waddle reacted with a stunned silence before Marks explained to him the rule change. Ffs man, it's not like the rule change happened last week. Knowing this sport is your ****ing job!

Perceptions vs results
Again, two different things. If England win this Test, I'll be right, if not, I'll be wrong. Quite different to me saying I felt England were better than the (actual) 3-2 margin suggested in the ODI series... but anyway..

How the heck is Vince a Test player for England btw? Looked terrible today, and I see averages 21 in Test cricket after 21 innings, & under 40 in FC.

I know Wadds is a legend in many people's eyes, but his voice has always grated my ears truth be told. Then as you say, we get his biased nonsensical ramblings as an extra bonus.

I do wish Wagner would try bowling properly a bit more. He's completely abandoned the fuller length he used to bowl, and while he was never great at it, he was still capable of picking up wickets with that nagging fuller length. I do worry that he is at risk of becoming one-dimensional.
