Back on this summer’s India series, even with this I’m still not convinced India would win.

Australia’s bowling attack will still be very strong in conditions that suit them and no Asian side has ever won a Test series in Oz against lineups than this Oz one will be. Australia’s rebel-decimated 1985/86 lineup was far weaker than this one and India still couldn’t beat them.

Actually India’s batsmen totally dominated Oz’s weak bowling attack that series, they just wasted a couple of winning positions which were there for the taking.

This may be showing my ignorance of what goes on in a change room, but if sandpaper was used, what were they doing with it to suddenly come up with the plan during the lunch break? Did they have it in their bags for sanding down bats, that seems a little old school? Or did they send somebody off to go buy some, or scrounge around for some?

Honestly Smith's crimes are trying to take the heat off a junior member of the side and not doing enough to stop the tampering.

How on earth is that deserving of an entire year's ban?

He absolutely should appeal. Reduce it to a 6 month ban and pray an Indian gets caught red handed to take the heat off.
