Overcast out West right now. Some threatening looking clouds though. How's the weather looking in Auckland so far today? It's been mostly OK up north, so hope it's the same.

I'm guessing they must just not consider Stokes good enough to be a main bowler, hence picking 4 specialist quicks alongside him. It could be a case of one of their "5 quicks" not being in the side for his bowling but primarily for his batting, but then if you're going to pick 4 other fast bowlers anyway then you're just wasting Stokes' utility as an all-rounder.I'm sure it's been mentioned lots of times but I wasn't in this thread yesterday so it's bears repeating -- England's selection was ****ing ridiculous. Five seamers is never, ever acceptable.
Nah it's just been the two minnows who have been given an absolute drubbingIs it great for the game when one team is getting blown off the park all the time though? I'd love to see the stats of the Test day-night matches. We saw WI crumble In England, we've seen NZ lose heavily In Aus? And now this. I think WI/Pak may have had a decent day-night game In the UAE a few years ago but apart from that it's been one sided from what i can tell.
It is now raining out West.Overcast out West right now. Some threatening looking clouds though.
The other bad aspect to that selection is it forced Root to bat 3. He should be batting at 4, always.I'm sure it's been mentioned lots of times but I wasn't in this thread yesterday so it's bears repeating -- England's selection was ****ing ridiculous. Five seamers is never, ever acceptable.

It is a fun ground to be a spectatorDamn you are so close to the play at Eden Park. Almost like watching park cricket from the sidelines.
Not necessarily about the boundaries, more about the angle of the stands and how they kinda fit in relation to the ovalThe square boundary where the photo is taken from is pretty much bang on average size for a square boundary in test cricket tbh. You're closer at Adelaide, surely.
So Eden Park is a superbly designed viewing ground with respectably sized boundaries? AgreedNot necessarily about the boundaries, more about the angle of the stands and how they kinda fit in relation to the oval
I miss watching test cricket at Eden park.Damn you are so close to the play at Eden Park. Almost like watching park cricket from the sidelines.
I wasn't even that close to the boundary, either. probably a good 20-30 rows back.Damn you are so close to the play at Eden Park. Almost like watching park cricket from the sidelines.
