Just a matter of time before Finch hits the Test team. We know he can handle International cricket and the big stage.

The bit that confuses me the most is the constant rotation between Stobo/Edwards/Sandhu/Conway/Abbott in the second half of the season. It just doesn't make any real sense. It's like they've each got a fifth of a dartboard and they throw two darts before naming the team list. And in Round 6 the second dart landed right on a line so they picked both of 'em to be fair.
I don't know why Sandhu got a recall, and I don't know why Stobo only got two games. Conway was, I believe, injured when the shield resumed and so started in the Futures League, so him missing out and then being recalled makes a bit of sense. They made a bit of a show of dropping Abbott and then he randomly got recalled too. just nuts

In saying all that I think they got the team 100% right for this match. It might be only the second time I've thought that all season, the first of which being the last match.

Finishing strongly, I suppose...

EDIT: Actually I probably would've picked Maddo instead of Larkin in the last match, so this match could well be a first!

Dan's chart is incredible. Perhaps instead of giving Can-do two non-consecutive games they should have let him send down his offies that he talked about a couple of years back with the old ball and left out Somerville.

I was thinking this too actually yesterday, but it felt odd because it now doesn't seem all that offensive. Especially after seeing the numbers of these other guys in domestic cricket.

I wouldn't even be mad if he batted 5 in tests with a Brendon McCullum-like attitude to it.

Neser hooping the ball around in the 47th over. But the swing in England is caused by the weather and has nothing to do with the ball...

And no, I don't think it's reversing.

Meanwhile, in Glenelg Paris has discovered the ability to swing the (33 over old) ball into the left hander as well as away. Funny how a few bowlers seem to discover each way swing when the ball allows it.

This has been a somewhat aggressive innings from Maddinson. Almost as if he's got somewhat nothing to lose.

He's infuriating. Playing like this and he'd be first man picked in the test side. But then he is so ordinary at other times.

"Shaun Abbott who only averages 13 in his first-class career but is a much better batsman than that"

He's played 39 games over the course of 7 years. People need to accept that he's not a better batsman than that

I could swear that people seem to paint him as an bit of an allrounder. I've yet to see any evidence of this.

Both SA and Vic have really crumbled today. Pretty bad after choosing to bowl. Fekete with a nice return (6/62 so far)
