Australian Domestic Season 2017/18

NSW won the toss and will bat. SA should be batting by tea. No Mad Dog again - four specialist batsmen, Henriques as the all rounder and Nev at six, Copes at seven.
I love this recipe and I hope it never ends

Having watched Pattinson and Tremain run through us like a vindaloo last season I'm hoping Queensland can bat a bit better this time around.

Fawad on to bowl in the eighth over. That's interesting.

WA look really understrength with all their injuries. Bevilaqua at least swings the ball a bit, Holder looks extremely meh.

Larkin taking the Tavare approach so far.

Edit: now Holder gets a wicket natch.

It's because both openers are left handed. Seriously the worst trend in cricket right now.
I would have to agree, quality spinners should be effective regardless which way they turn the ball. This whole have to spin the ball away nonsense is just dumb.

EDIT: Redbacks doing the same thing. They brought in a frontline spinner in Tom Andrews but then went to Coops ahead of him. Ugh.

EDIT part deux: Winter hell yeah

Renshaw half century up - third in his last 3 shield games. Needs to double it and put some real pressure on Bancroft.

Good to see Renshaw finally score a ton. In fast fashion too. Hopefully he'll see him in the baggy green again soon enough.

Yeah this happened last time he played as well, and if anything it just makes it worse. It's not like they actually just have lots of faith in Copeland's batting for some reason; they actually don't seem to rate his batting much at all.

Good to see Renshaw back in the runs, happy that he is turning his early form slump around, played some real nice shots against spin especially.
