By most promising paceman I presume Cameron Green ?I have high hopes for this Aus U19 team, even though probably the most promising young paceman is missing through injury. Last time Australia competed in 2014 there wasn't much success, only about 5 or 6 of them have played Shield cricket and Billy Stanlake is the only one even vaguely near the national team. I think the class of 2018 however will be seriously competitive.
Yeah Green was indeed who I was referring to. Been playing solely as a batsman as of late, not sure when he is fit to bowl again. As for Evans, I would also be surprised if he doesn't get in next game. Heard him vaugely compared to Pattinson at the same age
HD Ackerman was saying strike-bowler Zak Evans has an injury and they hopeful he will be back asapThe Australian attack looks very limited while Bartlett can't bowl quickly
Good luck doing that with Kohli in charge.Kohli made his ODI debut in the year 2008 when he was 19. We need to get Prithvi Shaw into the ODI side this year and groom him for the future. Most promising prospect by far. In another 2-3 years he can get into the test batting order at 6 - the ever revolving spot in our test side.
I have heard that now they will be using the same for T20 WC as wellThe likes of PNG, Fiji, etc. are such a waste of time in the U-19 World Cup. So much worse then other associates. Nepal and even Scotland are so much better and are missing out. The Pacific region does not deserve an automatic slot in the World Cup. They should be made to playoff with the second best placed Asian and European sides in order to qualify. Wouldn't get through then.
Just all-round impressive from Afghanistan.Afg v Pak -

First sighting for me of Qais Ahmed at 0.48 there. The leggie who technically kept Rashid Khan out of this squad; coach Andy Moles making a specific request for Rashid to come back and try to win the whole tourney, the ACB declining it becauseRashid isn't actually...I mean, because they really rate Qais too. They've also come up with a new rule that there'll be just one U19 WC appearance per player for them, from now on.
Damn, I didn't see NZ bowling but my main take away from watching NZ bat was how bad the Windies "pace" bowling was.Todd Watson being a thing might answer some of thierry henry's questions about how Colin Munro made the NZ Under 19 side as a specialist bowler back in the day.
