I said yesterday that this sort of weather is going to finish off England very quickly, they're just not used to it.

Quite the series when 8 of your 9 innings are below your series average

goes to show how much of an outlier that knock was. really shouldn't buy him as much credit in the bank as it inevitability will

maybe they need to invent a new batting stat where they look at your median score instead of your mean

Just quietly, a decent snare there by Smith at first slip mid-celebration. Maybe should do that every time he fields there.

That'd actually be quite an interesting exercise

Joe Root would be the GOAT

Reckon Stoneman will still be fine outside of Australia and, perhaps, South Africa. The threat of the quick short one seems to have messed up his game a bit. So when either the attack or pitch aren’t quite so quick, I think he’ll find a wau

Would be tempted to make no changes to the batting for New Zealand. Vince out would be the only one.

One day (probably in a few years) Cook will be finished for good and the people who've spent the last ten years predicting his demise will claim they saw it coming. It's like Arsenal missing the Champions League.

Taking nothing away from what Cook has achieved in the past but he does seem on the way out. Giving up the captaincy was an obvious step back in intensity as a player and his general attitude in this series to me points to a player who no longer desires to be the best. This will also be reflected in the team and you want players that are striving to be better and looking to improve, Cook might still have a few good innings left in him but will it come at a cost to the england camp.

Bitter sweet wicket - a dent in our chances to save the Test but....... James Vince can get in the ****ing bin

blokes on the cusp of selection like Hameed, Hales, Westley and Ballance were probably advantaged by being looked over for this series. Makes it very hard to not select them in the next few series where batting conditions will probably be way easier

Bit of a stretch from Clarke calling James "pretty 20s" Vince a "big wicket".
