Hopefully it deteriorates, because it has looked like one of those no hope of a result games since about over 2.

So all Australian ''cricket'' grounds operate like Wantage Road used to?
yeah basically. Aussie Rules was formed as a way to keep cricketers fit in the off-season (circa 1858), so it's always just made sense for the grounds to be shared. Both codes don't have strict laws regarding the size of the ground either so it's just logical

I remember the days where the Australian captain was a genuine threat to break the odd partnership with the ball.

Kinda ironic that Smudger looks the least likely to get a wicket since Bargearse.

He really was much more dangerous when every second ball would be a viciously dipping knee high full toss.

Not sure why Cummins isn't bowling instead of Smith. Let him have a crack before Starc and Haze finish the day with 5 overs of the new ball each.

In fairness he has bowled a fair bit today, so still understandable.

Him already bowling 19 overs today might have something to do with it. He's already overbowled as it is IMO.

Thing is they actually did redevelop the WACA ground around 2002. This involved pulling down the two stands that used to be next to the Prindiville stand, removing seating, and clipping the sides off the ground so there was now possibility playing Australian rules matches at all. Whereas that really should have built new stands, even if only small ones, around the sides of the ground, and perhaps some more facilities—in particular, 'facilities'—for spectators. So they shot themselves in the foot there.
