Dhawan, Gambhir, Ganguly, Rohit all better than Sehwag. SRT obv the other opener.

Sehwag is very overrated as an ODI opener. Not as good as Ganguly for sure, and maybe Rohit/Gambhir as well.

Ganguly could bat anywhere really, so him at 4 and Rohit opening with Sachin is probably a good compromise.

Purely on opening, I would have Ganguly ahead of Rohit because he was far superior in chases.

The vast majority of matches these guys play are "meaningless" ones, that's what their entire record is built on. This is true for Kohli, Sachin, Ponting, de Villiers, Amla and all the rest...

I mean, yeah, I'm all for weighting ICC tournament performances higher (where you get to play against such mighty teams as UAE/Netherlands/Namibia etc.), but you don't disregard everything else.

Ganguly doesn't bat quick enough for 4, there's place for only one of him or Rohit in the ATG XI, right now I would still go for Ganguly, but Rohit's probably gonna take his spot in a couple of years (also I don't think Sehwag in ODIs is overrated at all.)
