Battle of the craptains this series to be honest. Both are poor, easily the best bat in each side but just because they are doesn't mean they make a good captain.Steve Smith isn't exactly Mark Taylor when it comes to tactical leadership.
Handjob and Pain shouldnt be talking to Root. They should be worrying about their insurmountable lack of ability.Makes you wonder whether it was anything to do with cricket, wouldn’t normally see Root pointing his bat at someone if it’s just the usual chirp. Normally just giggles at them.
Thought Vince looked ok today, it’s just the same story with him, a glorious drive here or there but a loose shot outside off stump causing his demise. If he could just be more selective in what he goes after and think about his game plan a bit more, he could nail a spot in this England side, unfortunately there’s no signs of that happening.Regardless of result of this test Handscomb has to go as does Vince. Both completely out of their depth and looked walking wickets in this game.
I can see it happening one day that an Aussie player will overstep the mark when they sledge and an opposition player will bring up Hughes which would be horrible but in the heat of the moment stupid things happen and I fear it may.Makes you wonder whether it was anything to do with cricket, wouldn’t normally see Root pointing his bat at someone if it’s just the usual chirp. To be fair they were probably just trying to unsettle him, he was going along so serenely they probably felt that they had to try something.Handjob and Pain shouldnt be talking to Root. They should be worrying about their insurmountable lack of ability.
You’d hope no one would resort to that!! Although if they overstepped the mark with Stokes we know what’d happen!I can see it happening one day that an Aussie player will overstep the mark when they sledge and an opposition player will bring up Hughes which would be horrible but in the heat of the moment stupid things happen and I fear it may.
You know, maybe you're the real victim of this thread.looking forward to Gob's suicide.
hopefully can stream it live.
Of course but if they have said something really bad that shouldn't have been said then it is human nature to go one step further and that may be it. I hope it never happens but I wouldn't be surprised if it did. You’d hope no one would resort to that!! Although if they overstepped the mark with Stokes we know what’d happen!
Tbh I'm struggling to come up with a sledge that's more intelligent and witty than 'lol Phil Hughes is dead'. It's not something that would be easy to bring up without deliberately being a ****.I can see it happening one day that an Aussie player will overstep the mark when they sledge and an opposition player will bring up Hughes which would be horrible but in the heat of the moment stupid things happen and I fear it may.
Yep. Someone said it already, but whilst Malan's results so far haven't exactly brilliant and I don't think he'll ever really make it as a test cricketer, you really can't fault him for giving it all the effort he can and I respect him a lot for that.I was impressed with Malan. Ponting and Vaughan were talking utter garbage about his low strike when he was stranded on 8. This is a team who keep chucking their wickets away playing gormless cross bat swipes and aimless off-stump wafts in the first three overs yet here is a guy who is soaking up pressure - pink ball, newish ball, nighttime against that excellent attack - and you couple of wankers are criticising him? He is the only lefty who seems to have any notion on how to play Lyon! !And then when he got off 8 his strike-rate increased and he got that 29. The ball he got out to was a peach so he has no blame there.
Go on Harsh, infract him for this questionable post.Tbh I'm struggling to come up with a sledge that's more intelligent and witty than 'lol Phil Hughes is dead'. It's not something that would be easy to bring up without deliberately being a ****.
Poor mans Collingwood in a way. You can see he isn't as gifted as some in the side but he really tries hard and looks desperate to succeed. You hope he does in a way but I don't think he will.Yep. I liked the way Malan battled for a decent length of time, he doesn’t tend to give it away quite as easily as a Vince does. I think he could have been a little busier and ticked the strike a bit better by when a rank half volley did turn up courtesy of Starc he still had the right mindset to be able to jump on it.Handscomb is absolutely awful. Vince? I would have certainly taken his trademark 'pretty 30' last night.
