When last have the Dolphins had a proper pace spearhead other than Abbot? Muthusamy doing better than Subrayen again. Hope he develops. Good guy.

Pillans was shaping up, but he went pound-chasing...

Does van Biljon not qualify as a stalwart yet? I suppose he's only had 23 first team games (he's also spent a lot of time playing 2nd team), but he averages 45 in first team, so they obvious consider him a banker...

At a good pace too....

Klaasens also scoring runs, are we going to have a glut of wk that can't get into the first team because you have QDK around; always feel sorry for those sorts of players that just have the bad luck to play during an era of an unbelievably good player.

Nice recovery from Warriors!
Yeah Klaasen & Second will be hard like stories I reckon.

Dupavillon for a short while ! You only have to go to his instagram to see how highly his opposition regard him.

Before then it does seem limited. Remember an aging Klusener, Jon Kent opening the bowling and a bit of Andrew Tweedie

Still some way off legendary Van der Bijl - Procter or Pollock-Marshall-Rawson-young Klusener

I remember going to the old Standard Bank LO domestic games when that was the bowling attack. I think the fastest bowler on display was Ugesan Govender. Who ironically, gave me one of Kluseners old bats. I couldn't bat with it till I was 16 haha.

You've made Gary Guilder, Keith Storey, and Ross Veenstra and Neil Johnson too (haha) sad pandas for not being included in the mid-nineties side...

Nice to see Pieter Malan not only now establish himself at franchise level but really start to dominate. Liked him from the U19 days. Handy bowler back then as well.

Yeah fair play to him.

Given 3 decent runs before this and failed abysmally.

So surprised he has done this unless he is meeting his quality. Maybe he has improved. Be tough to say.

To be fair, it is the Warriors, and when we suck with the ball, we really suck...

So 4 rounds, no results, and mountains of runs for all... What's going on? Consistent franchise seamers like Birch (3-237), Alexander (5-338), de Lange (4-226), D Pretorius (4-215), Olivier (3-157), B Hendricks (6-297), Frylinck (8-317), Viljoen (3-115), Paterson (6-198), all lacking any penetration. Were they getting the pitches ready for the Global T20? (You know how wickets are bad for ratings and all.) The top seamers so far in wickets are Titans Siboto and a 28 year-old franchise (almost, he had 1 game before this) rookie Alfred Mothoa (and he has often been only bowled a few overs being the 3rd/4th seamer).

Only took 4 balls for Ngidi and Philander to strike. Ngidi with three wickets already.
He is on fire 4 wickets now.... did not realize this started today, thought it was Thursday?

I assume they have changed schedules around to possible allow for the local T20 competition? Or something?

I really feel Ngidi should be the one backed at test level instead of Phehlukwayo. At this point in time Phehlukwayo is a bits and pieces player with capability of becoming a very good lower ODI cricketer. His bowling will never amount to anything at Test level.

They're not really competing for the same spot though. Phehlukwayo is being used as an all-rounder who bats 7 and is the fourth seamer in a four-man pace attack, while Ngidi is very definitely a frontline bowler. But now that he's back from injury I suspect it won't be too long before he's in the mix as well.

Ngidi appears to be, along with Dupavillon, the future of the SA seam attack, pity they have both been injured. Could have seen a call up for one or both during this series otherwise.

Phehlukwayo is meant to be playing as an all rounder, but honestly he has not had a real chance with the bat; And with the front line bowlers doing most of the work, not seen much of the ball. Needs to gain a yard of pace though.

Markram also scoring runs again.
