Those 43 runs made the difference between the Eden Gardens ODI and this one.

The difference between ODI scores of 334 and 291 is much much more than it often seems. Maxwell played a stinker last game, and Stoinis' knock was simply bad.

It's no different to a team winning by 1 wicket off the last ball.

my point was that it's only an estimate and in situations where it produces a close result it was likely too close to call. I just feel a loss is too big a punishment for a game that hasn't been wrapped up and hangs in the balance. I know D/L is a necessary evil but yeah I think it'd be cool if it was only used to decide results when that result was really obvious, or otherwise award a draw

Draws aren't a bad thing IMO

It doesn't fully defeat the purpose, as without it you'd get a washout result when one team was clearly coasting should it rain

Anyway whatever I'm not married to the idea

it's taken them like 3 weeks to play 5 ODers and they've still managed to make it perfectly clash with a big sporting event in australia

What a turnaround in Australia's batting woes dropping Cartwright has been.

LOL Jadhav somehow getting wickets has to be one of the biggest mysteries in cricket.

Excellent from Jadhav. Probably would make the Australian side as a spinner.

Whatever it takes!!!
Had a pretty heated discussion over dinner with 4 of my cousins.. They want Raina in for Jadhav. I want Raina in for Pandey. All under the proviso that he rediscovers his form and fitness of course. For all the under rating Manish Pandey is supposed to be put through, Jadhav has it worse AFAIC. Average of 40+, SR of 100+, wickets and ER very decent, part time keeper to boot. Only weakness is his fielding.

Guy has managed to average 23 over series against NZ, England, Champions Trophy, SL and Australia in pretty flat conditions overall.

Who says big bats are always good. He literally tried to dink it over the infield and it ended up at long on.

Reckon Clarke's talking rubbish there regarding the use of DRS. You shouldn't always go with your gut feel. That's what India did all the time with the DRS during the England series and they were awful with it.

Maybe Clarke was just a better judge and his 'gut feel' was superior, but it doesn't mean that applies to everyone else

Dhoni hasn't had the greatest of days behind the stumps.

India have pulled this back superbly.
