They’ll play them both, get the team mix wrong and still win with a leg in the air.

then why get so defensive when we say he should be dropped
I’m not being defensive. Australia uses inter-WC jam odi series as trials, and have since forever. He’s being trialled to see how he goes. He deserves more than one game

the more relevant question would be why you’d gaf about a series like the other than to trial blokes pre-WC

Actually a good point. The hypothesis that dropping Cartwright is the right thing to do is heavily reliant on the flawed assumption that the Australian selectors actually give a **** about whether or not they win this series.

For all we know they'd rather lose the series to build a friendly relationship with the BCCI.

i don't i just through it was funny how clueless Cartwright looked
There are a number of truths in cricket. Among these are:

1. It has a crazy way of rewarding hard work
2. The wheel is forever
3. Australia DAGF about inter-WC Odis then win the WC afterwards
4. The wheel is forever

Sample size being four of the past five probably suggests I’m somewhere close to the money tbh

The best odi bowler in the world is a hairs breadth from playing. Parra blokes shitting themselves he’d play for west’s this weekend against them. If they GAF they’d have him over there. They care to the extent they want to see how unproven blokes go but otherwise they only care about the next WC, test series vs India and the Ashes. Doesn’t mean it’s right, but it is what it is

I don’t know. I think they dgaf about the CT mostly, T20s a more difficult proposition to work out, though it’s a different form of the game again
