As much as Wade is just awful, I don't know what those calling for Nevill would expect him to do since his last FC match was in March. Hiding to nothing.

Maybe he wouldn't be in form to score runs but te wouldn't have forgotten how to keep in these few months.

Great result though it was I get the impression that this is about as good a test as Bangladesh could have had

- win the toss
- Tamim puts up a good score in both innings
- Shakib and Musfiqur make runs in each innings
- Australia collapse twice
- Smith doesn't do much

The fact that it's so close anyway means I expect Australia to come back hard in the second test. Still backing 1-1.
And a pay dispute that dragged on and on. That has to be unsettling just prior to a tour.

Nah don't be blaming the pay dispute for a sub par performance. Bangers deserve huge props for a great win.

Yes, it was mainly a 2 man show with Tamim and Shakib leading the way in their 50th test. Also, 2 failures from Smith will not happen again. Unless the other deshis pick up, this is going to be 1-1.

So SOK is on a plane. Selectors with mud on their face! Picking a team with the squad there, I'd be going with Warner Renshaw Maxwell Smith Handscomb Cartwright Agar Cummins O'Keefe Lyon Swepson.
I'd like to put another batsman in there but with Wade and Khawaja both being bunnies I'll take Swenson. Don't tell me there is no keeper cause there hasn't been one.

Bangladesh must player an extra batsmen next Test. In both innings had frontline bowlers who bowled part time amounts of overs.

Wade needs to go for Nevill
Cartright should come in next test for Khawaja and keep the gig if he proves to be decent over a few tests
Handscomb should be replaced soon by either Khawaja or Head if he doesn't step up and score more than pretty 30s.

And usually the coach is held accountable when their side loses.
lol if you think the batsmen were bad against spin this game just wait until Cartwright has to try to face up on a rank-turner

It will be hilarious

Chittagong pitch is not a turner like dhaka from day 1. Its slow and dry. Will take turn from day 3 onwards unless they are using shovels to dig it up.

Going forward Australia has some good bowling stocks but missing a keeper and 2-3 class batsman. Travis Head, Patterson are contenders but the keeping position maybe harder to solve.. unless Gilchrist is reincarnated

Great win for BD. But I do wonder whether they've caught two of the better sides at just the right time? I mean, let's be honest, England and Aus haven't had the greatest records in SC conditions even when they had teams leading the rankings, And now both sides have top orders that have huge holes in them. Couple that with both Aus and England not exactly having great spin attacks either, then one could argue that these two matches were the perfect storm for Bangladesh. Them winning these tests underlines their improvement no doubt and suggests that they could become a real problem for teams when they play at home. But I personally think we'll only really know how strong they are when they play the likes of India and Pakistan at home. Two teams who know how to play spin and can match them with their own spinners aswell. It's easy to prepare turners when you know the opposition can't match your spinners. But when the opposition CAN match you, that's a different kind of "test" in more ways than one.

Eurgh **** me that was an awful collapse.

Well done to Bangladesh nevertheless

It obviously wont happen, but Lehmann should have been given the boot a while ago.

When has that happened? How many series do we need to lose?

What's with the attempts to take away from this win by stating all the things that went in BDs favour or that the Aussies were underprepared or weaker than ever

No one is placing them on top of the Test table FFS. All the gloating is tongue in cheek. Let us enjoy this wonderful historic moment geez
