wtf just happened to cricinfo

NZTailender

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
The mobile app has basically stopped working for me. Just brings up a screen saying "update to the new and improved Cricinfo" which takes you to the app store. Doesn't download, just has the 'open' button for something already downloaded. Apparently you need ios10 at least. I'm back in 2012 with my iPhone 4s so I can't. oh well.

Exactly the same for me. Can still access the mobile site through Safari, but it's pretty slow.

After I load espncricinfo.com on the browser, it seems like I need to click on four different places to open a match scorecard. Even then, it doesn't open the full scorecard, just the summarized version with the two current batsmen. And then I need to deal with the links shifting up and down with flash content, pictures, autoplaying videos etc. loading up with a bit of a delay.

I don't think this is me being resistant to change, it's genuinely ****.

I'm slowly getting used to it but still don't like it - the main things that annoy me now are that you can't just quickly check the score any more, and the search facility has become unwieldy

Have they completely done away with live career statistics now?

The live scorecards are balls. Min. overs remaining is tucked away in size 8 font.

Does anyone really give a **** about player's wagon wheels/pitch maps?

Hello all.

Anyone know how one can bring up a page on a current match and find out what the players' "live" career stats are? They do this (in truncated form) for the two batsmen currently in and the two bowlers currently bowling. But I'd like this for both teams, preferably on one easy-to-view page. They used to do this but if the function still exists I can't find it in the hideous quagmire that is the new site.

It's a horrible, horrible redesign of a once-great website that had already been on the slide for some time.

EDIT: Sorry, just seen that LT has asked this question just above. Glad to hear if anyone has an answer.

Is it a comment on me or on humanity at large that I've grown used to this **** show, too? I like the latest scores thingy on the top of the page the best.

Don't worry guys I was told that you'll get used to it. Don't bother complaining about all the lost functions either

Yes, I've noticed it's really hard to find the live scores now. Very irritating.

Absolutely spot-on.

Before the ESPN take-over, cricinfo was an absolutely outstanding website. What's happened to it since is very sad.

Another thing I'm finding really annoying is the change in the commentary tab. When you open the summary view, you can only view commentary for the last two overs or so. Now, if I wanted to view commentary for west indies' second innings, for example, previously you could either just load the commentary in reverse chronological order in the summary view or view the commentary for the entire innings in one big commentary tab. Now, to do the same thing, I need to :

1) click on the commentary tab
2) Click on "WI second innings"

Fair enough but then it defaults to just 'wickets' so you need to :

3) Bring down the options and click on full commentary

4) Keep pressing page down to individually load 3 overs of commentary at a time.

5) keep doing it until you get to the end of the innings

This is ****ing unforgivable. Atleast give us the option of sorting the commentary in reverse chronological order. It makes reading up commentary of recent overs extremely irritating.

Or, in the summary page, when I scroll down, just load in commentary from the previous overs, like it used to be. Why this was changed, who the **** knows.
