But whenever I read ball by ball commentary the, the valium advocates running the comms only get positive feedback.

My brain hurts.

wtf happened to the mobile site? i used to get pretty much everything that was on the desktop site, now this morning it's just got a list of scores with a tab for news.
I think I've had this affect me, if the app thinks your internet is 'slow' it "optimizes" the page, which is to say, greatly reduces the amount of stuff on there. It's a useful function to have in the app, but there's no opt out so you're forced onto it. Given I'm on **** internet on all the time, it's quite infuriating. Have to turn off wifi, and reload the app

Yadav to Tharanga, OUT, beautiful bowling! It's a nip-backer and it's a right good 'un. Really, it's a bit like the perfect con artist, waiting until its mark is in the worst possible position - Tharanga with his front leg not really moving, his head falling over, a gap between bat and pad and the stumps perfectly left open for the full-length ball, pitching on off and darting in off the pitch to slam into it.
Yes, we'll tell you all this useless rubbish instead of a simple : yadav to tharanga Out bowled 2(9). We won't tell you how he got out or what his score was, for that you'll have to click on the scorecard tab.

Whatever it takes!!!
These cricinfo arm chair experts just think they know cricket and only they know cricket, don't they? Annoying for the passionate fans for sure, maybe fun for the non serious ones though.

Yeah this is exactly what I thought. Fiduciary responsibility being abdicated imo.

Need more diversity in the commentary team.

For a match between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, they have scorer and Commentator both with Indian names in a league that doesn't even feature any Indian players.

Do they know what a 'Tallawah' is without consulting with Google?

Awesome knock from Burns. Apart from the textbook Vertical Forward Attacks on display, he also occasionally pulled out the old Diagonal Backward Defense and the Horizontal High Velocity Counter Attack.

It makes no sense why they've changed something so basic. The mode of dismissal and the batsman's score would be the first thing they'd point out in the commentary after a wicket. Do they get an extra click by forcing us to go to the scorecard tab to check that info?

tbf it was the most apt response to the shot

I suspect it was just taking time to update, the full commentary is up now

yes but it doesn't tell me anything about how he actually got out
I thought you were just pointing out the lack of commentary, since OS had already brought up the lack of other details just a few posts above.

Here is a classic case of not knowing cricketers;

Wahab Riaz to McCarthy, 1 run, good length on middle stump, looks to work it on the leg side but he inside-edges that shot onto his pads. The ball dribbles away to the off side and he scampers through for a single. Fifty for the young man
Which was then questioned by a comment from one of their viewers:

Chris: "50 for the 'young man' - isn't McCarthy 30? I know that is young by my standards, but for most professional sportsmen, that is 'experienced' at least." - young at heart!
Calling a 30 year old McCarthy a kid
