Well that's just great. Dropping a guy who's averaging somewhere near 20 isn't brilliant at the best of times, but especially when it leaves Jimmy as something close to a one man attack because the other quicks aren't at the races right now.
Being a massive Jaws fan I just read that in a Chief Brody voice.

Just need Hooper to say "Oh boys, I think he's come back for his noon feeding"

Only good thing about Malan is he can whack bad bowling and should be in ODI team
I'm willing to give anyone the benefit of the doubt, the guy has guttsed this out so far, let's see if he can carry on doing it, very key innings for him.

Can we say that England have so far yet to replace the batting prowess of Strauss, Bell and Collingwood?
And Trott. Trott at number 3 was just phenomenal for them and England were the number 1 test side in the world when they had this top order

Strauss
Cook
Trott
KP
Bell
Collingwood

Nah, Colly retired after the 2010/11 Ashes, We had Eoin Morgan at 6 when we topped the rankings after the India whitewash in 2011.

They haven't replaced Colly's 75 mile half trackers either.
Stokes has replaced both at much better value. Fans of England team won't say it, but they do miss KP. If KP came after Root followed by Bairstow Stokes and Moeen, it would have been an awesome line-up.

Rocky's dismissal was a stone cold no ball for me
TMS agreed with you, if it's any consolation.

Sounds like he batted well yesterday, which may solve one problem.
Whereas Westley's dismissal sounded horrible, which still leaves us with an almighty issue at number 3.
