England's position isn't great, but it's not awful.

They might be 4 down, but Cook, Stokes, Bairstow, Moeen, TRJ, Broad, and Anderson is still a lot of work for SA.

England could probably use a few runs before Moeen comes in, and give him licence to have one of those mockers innings where he hits a 50 better than a run-a-ball.

I presume Big Vern can't have been trying too hard when he had his stint at Sussex earlier this summer
I think he has had a few county stints and has never done much which is just weird. In division two as well I think, maybe Darren Stevens would be averaging 20 with the ball in Test cricket...

Maybe none of the Div 2 guys get close to the ball to nick it... kinda like Stokes at the moment.

Honestly, ****ing weather.

Saw a bit of Westley in my lunch hour. Really favours leg, doesn't he? Plays with a closed face nearly all the time.

Guess we can't look forward to a Social post telling us how Cook always get's out to high-quality bowlers today.

No doubt we'll get one when he next scores low, as I'm pretty sure Alastair Cook is the only decent opener in Test match history that gets out to high quality bowling.

Cook has had notable problems against quality stump-to-stump fast bowling throughout his career though. That he's batted well today doesn't change that.
