Realistically though it's very deep on "batting" but light on actual proper batting. It seems the way of the world lately though.

So what are we looking at for the first test:

Mukund/Dhawan
Rahul Jr.
Che
King Kohli (c)
Rahane
Ashwin
Saha (wk)
Jadeja
Kuldeep
Umesh
Shami/Bhuvi/Ishant

I would go with Bhuvi but expect Shami to be there.
Remember Ravi Shastri is coach again. So, don't be surprised if Rohit comes back at 6.

Or, Ravi can go full ****** and play Hardik.

Yeah, whitewash on the cards. Few matches could be rained off too as it is the rainy season.

Hope it's as good as the 2015 tour, which I thought was outstanding both from the standpoint of drama and the quality of cricket. India are a better team and SL are way worse compared to the respective teams so we're probably favourites.

You cant drop any of the 3 spinners though..
I dunno, depends on the pitch.

A lot of teams can make this mistake when touring SL, assuming the pitches will be turners. They probably will, but SL often do have pitches which help the pacers a lot, Palekelle and Kandy in particular. Even the deciding test last time around was a genuine greentop.

Shaminda Eranga has FINALLY had his bowling action cleared by the ICC so he might feature in the limited overs leg of the tour.Having said that, he hasn't played any form of cricket due to a heart issue..would be nice to have him and Prasad back for us..

The same ICC whom allowed Murali to continue chucking?

Correct. Sri Lanka probably provides the most help among Asian pitches for new ball seamers on Day 1

Chandimal unlikely to play first test apparently due to pneumonia..Oh well that's 20 runs we lost in the match then due to losing wickets to switching brain off before going out to bat..
