can someone tell me what Lanka sees in Lakmal he is 30+ with a horrible test record with very little chance of improving they have Chameera Prasad and Pradeep who are all better options then this bloke yet for some strange reason he has been the leader of their attack for quite some time now.

Haven't seen him bowl lately but he had a 1-2 year phase recently where he was actually legitimately bowling well.

Don't know if he's slipped since then or is still putting in the performances, just without numbers to back it up

He's the only one who doesn't get injured and get to the park from what I can see lol

Prasad has been injured for almost a year now, Lakmal and Pradeep are the leaders of our attack. Chameera and Kumara are still inexperienced. Lakmal is a good swing bowler and has done well where the conditions help but to be fair, he hasn't done well this match but then looking at the wicket, it is clearly a spinners wicket rather than a fast bowlers.

36 tests 82 wickets @ 45 there has to come a point where you drop the towel and for me Lakmal is past that point. Shame Prasad is injured he looked terrific at one point if I was a Lankan selector I would take the punt with Chameera and Kumara and give them a run together for couple of series both look cricketers with good to great upside potential.

Lakmal will be a good county bowler in division 2, not in test cricket

Not playing the second spinner when you have quality in Sandakan. There are a lot of problems with the Sri Lankan team but at least they could get the selection right?

Lakmal as I always feel has been that one bowler who is one of few to not get injured. He has evolved in to a far better bowler. But the downside in SL is the support the seamers get.Lakmal did a decent job in SA.

Apart from Lakmal,Pradeep is injured, however he will be expected to take part in India series.

Chameera once did well in NZ with a match bag of 9 wickets. Then caught a back injury which kept him away from cricket for a good year and a half.

I'd still put both Chameera, and Lahiru Kumara in the raw category.

About Prasad,he is likely to feature in the Pakistan tests later this year

Raza and Williams are passable batting all rounders but I think Zimbabwe missed a trick by not selecting a proper second spinner.

Who actually is Zim's second front line spinner these days? It would have to be for Chris 'no comment' Mpofu as Tiripano has shown an ability to bat.

Awesome Test this, I've only watched about 2 hours total but been following cricinfo more closely than your typical Zimbo Test.
