That 'catch' being so far from the bat - I'd be cursing the Saffers for cheating weren't it the case that I thought he'd edged it as well

Reckon Dawson's a tad rattled though - can't see him lasting long unless he settles down

tbh I've lost track of where Moeen has and has not made runs for England, so I wasn't going to assume that his record at 5 was poor.

Maybe if Maharaj is turning the ball this much, Moeen can bowl out SA as well as make runs with the bat.

I think Moeen only batted at 5 in Bangladesh, so given the nature of that series I think it's fair enough to say he may still have potential at 5. That said, I'd expect Bairstow to get more out of batting there than Mo, so happy enough to stick with what we've got for a while.

Is Stokes at 5 a possibility at all. I can see it not affecting him too adversely, and Mo/Jonny might prefer 6 to 5?

Tbf I could be wrong also, but I thought it was 4 where he averages decently and 7 where he's godly and the rest kinda ****.

He should have bowled more in the first innings imo.

That was awful Moeen :(
