I think the top of the order is an area where South Africa don't need anything new whatsoever, and that is I assume where he would be slotted in. Bavuma not in the champions trophy squad anyhow.

I would like Bavuma to be given a shot.... yes some of the race issues are just arbitrary. See also Tahir not being previously disadvantaged in RSA. But it is what it is. Also the '6' is a guide line, we could play less if needed, whether they will is another question.

He has been fantastic domestically and one of the in form players... but he has not been brilliant when given an opportunity at international so far, one or two good showings but not consistent. Just like all the rest of our middle order. The best batsmen of all the all-rounders, can actually bat at 6.
