yeah but this kind of weird stuff happens at every auction. sometimes it feels like teams intentionally don't bid on players so that they can sign them as free agents closer to the season, for whatever reason

I mean it happens in BBL too but it's not commentators trying to jam it in awkwardly, it's only in very set situations ("Bunnings Warehouse replay" etc). And it's pretty alien to Australian sport in general tbf.

“There is no superstition behind calling ourselves Supergiant now,” the team’s spokesperson told HT.

Rahane, Smith can't really be called hitters. For a target over 160, they will have to rely on Stokes and Dhoni really. I haven't seen much of Mayank Agarwal though.

Smith gets gassed with big hits in the 50 over games but he can be a T20 hitter.
