Look I'm a noted Lyon hater and even I'll say that he's been largely excellent in this series. Didn't do **** in Ranchi but even there I thought he mostly bowled inoffensively, if not well. It was just a dead track.

Ashwin's a class spinner and is obviously going to bowl wicket taking deliveries and spells here and there whether he's out of form, injured or not. He's been very important no doubt, even though at times looking very, very ordinary. Overall Lyon's just been better.

Australia had arse-all luck with a couple of lbw decisions, but India deserve a lot of credit for a cracking bowling performance there. Some great catches, too.

Australia used all their luck to win tosses. Managing to score 300 allout after 130-1 that too in the first innings after all the make big scores talk is what lost them the game.

This is not taking into consideration that Australia have batted first 3/4 tests. I think it's a tough ask for Ashwin to be expected to run through sides day 1 match after match.

Weird post. They deserve to win this series as much as India. That is what has made this a great series.
