Marsh is definitely good against spin. Atleast by Australian standards. Also the commns need to get it together, like Handscome is NOT a good player of spin just because he played that one innings last test match. Neither is Marsh a good player of spin. Most of the Aussies bar Smith still do suck against spin.
Haha yeah by Australian standards says it all.Marsh is definitely good against spin. Atleast by Australian standards.
Based on what? They both have good records against spin. Handscomb was brought into the team largely with this tour in mind IMO, did well on an A tour of India and has a reputation in domestic cricket for being a good player of spin. Marsh has a good record in the subcontinent and plays spin better than most Australian batsmen. Also the commns need to get it together, like Handscome is NOT a good player of spin just because he played that one innings last test match. Badly needs some time off after this series. Hope he just skips the IPL altogether, although that's wishful thinking. So Ash is playing as a batting allrounder then? Better make it count.
He's genuinely decent though. Looks assured most of the time against Ashwin and Jadeja and handled herath well too. Most of his dismissals have been typical lose shots to the pacers anyway.Haha yeah by Australian standards says it all.
Nice factsAlso the commns need to get it together, like Handscome is NOT a good player of spin just because he played that one innings last test match. Neither is Marsh a good player of spin. Most of the Aussies bar Smith still do suck against spin.
Plenty of time to rest during away tests, sitting in the dressing room.Badly needs some time off after this series. Hope he just skips the IPL altogether, although that's wishful thinking.
Maybe I'm being a baised since I don't really rate players good against Spin unless I've seen a lot of them, and mostly I see them when playing against India. But I've seen Marsh against India before and I didn't rate him even before this series, and he hasn't done much to convince me otherwise, regardless of what he did last innings.Based on what? So basically players can only be good players of spin if they completely dominate India in India?Maybe I'm being a baised since I don't really rate players good against Spin unless I've seen a lot of them, and mostly I see them when playing against India. And if Handscome is considered a good player of spin in Australia then that kind of sums up why Australia have been so terrible against spin for the longest time.
Not as long as India has against pace and bounce tbfMaybe I'm being a baised since I don't really rate players good against Spin unless I've seen a lot of them, and mostly I see them when playing against India. Well I personally consider it to be the greatest test for overseas players in particular, and I don't expect players to dominate India the way Smith has done, but I would need to have watched them play some quality innings over a period of time to say right, this guy's worrying me now.So basically players can only be good players of spin if they completely dominate India in India?
