***Official*** Australia in India 2017

Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah Dharamshala in late march should suit quicks and swing bowlers. Good chance Oz might bring in Bird for Lyon, if Lyon is still troubled by his finger injury. Expect us to play Bhuvi and Shami instead of Nair and Ishant, but wont be surprised if Umesh has run out of steam and needs to be rested. A cracking game coming up and hopefully a result wicket.

Ranchi was good but I guess no reverse swing really kinda killed it, with the outfield being as lush as it was. Plus the Aussies deciding to bat out a draw without any #intent nonsense. Excellent game overall but I still think Aus should have driven home their toss advantage better. Their second innings was a more impressive batting effort than their first, IMO. And we need to figure out how to get the Chump out without him having a brainfade. And time for Kohli to finally make some runs, its a crucial game and we may play only 5 batters. Need our talisman players to show up - that's still Kohli and Ashwin. Ash looked loads better in the second innings and if not for ****ing Karun Nair, may well have won us the test. So hoping it points to better returns and better luck for him at Dharamshala. Kohli should remember he is someone who likes getting into the game early. You can always take him off if he is not finding his rhythm, 3 or 4 overs in, but he is the kinda bowler you throw the ball to as soon as possible in a test, esp. in India. Jadeja is the same and for God's sake, I hope Kohli lets them have a bowl in tandem for a spell instead of all the "pace this side, spin this side" nonsense. Both sides have over done this in the last two tests.

Funny how kohli was whining that the ball got too soft. Well no ****, but you only have yourself to blame for not bowling the spinners in tandem when the ball was still hard. Terrible captaincy.

I mean, it's a double edged thing: maybe a harder ball would see them having got more wickets, but by the same token it might also have saw them not putting up a 200 run partnership for the 7th wicket.

He mentioned that Australia struggled coz of that too, tbf. Though I expect the stupid as **** Aussie media would have not mentioned that.

Steve Smith is averaging 60 in case you guys don't know. I always knew when I first saw him back in 11 that he was something special. Surprised, he didn't play on a regular bases since. Actually, when he first came onto the scene, nobody and I mean nobody really rated him, and didn't really like him. He could become one of the all time greatest batsman of Australia. I rate him better than Ricky Ponting. Warner reminds me of Matthew Hayden. Australia always seems to produce these stunning batsman. They must have a great system in place. The key question now is can they produce the next Shane Warne. I'm surprised why they can't produce a spinner worth of note. Australia have done well in this test series. I really hope they do win the final test. But for future, no test series bar the Ashes should consist of more than 3 tests.

Has there been word that this Bangladesh tour isn't happening?
Nah, though I feel like there's some contradictory information as the FTP actually says it's a home series vs Bangladesh, at least the original one did. Maybe they've changed that to an away series and scrapped the home one, dunno. But that would also be before the Ashes. So I guess either way there is another series. If it's away you'd expect they'd just take the same team as India as much as possible. If it's at home it'll be interesting since Khawaja will come back into the picture.

So when was the last time that Australia saved a match where they were in danger of hurtling towards a defeat? From when I've started watching , they've mostly been this dominant juggernaut that they've generally never really needed to try their best to not-lose so much so that when it was needed they folded like a cheap suit. Martyn's innings at Chennai in 2004/05 was one game which i felt they could've lost and it took an ATG knock and a solid Gillespie to stall India, who BTW might have won anyway were it not for rain.

you couldn't get Gillespie out so you weren't the better team in that match anyway, if I'm remembering how this works...
