***Official*** Australia in India 2017

For someone who is playing his 3rd test series and first away from home, it would be a bit unfair to point fingers at him for failing to perform imo. Granted that he is good against spin but actually delivering in tense situations even though he is good against spin takes time.

True, but his top score is, like, 24. He's better than that.

India has been immense. It is definitely not easy to churn out 600 runs when the opposition is bowling as tight as Australia did today. Especially after the mental hit they'd have taken after collapsing multiple times in the first 2 tests. And also when their main-man has turned into a tail-ender.

Handscombe was also groomed specifically with this tour in mind too. He's definitely not done enough.

Yea, especially given that both Ashwin & Kohli have been absolutely **** and they were by far India's best two players last year and were absolutely instrumental to India's wins.

It's about time Smith joined the other Australian greats and scored a hundred in each innings. Steve and Allan did it once. Ponting did it three times. So far, none of my dreams have happened, but I like to dream.

Also, Ashwin is **** now and massively overrated! (It may be his physical problem hindering him but regardless). I don't think he's even a top 5 bowler in the world anymore!

He's not looked good for a few whole months. Has lost it. Needs a long break to heal himself.

If there was a genuine decent spinner in the Indian domestic circuit, I'd prefer him to Ashwin but there isn't any..

I do think the health problem is affecting Ashwin, it's hard to see a fit Ashwin being that average in SC. Still I'd play him in the last test anyway and give him a long rest after that, his presence isn't so critical in LOIs. He still took a 6fer in the 2nd test so it's not as if he is a liability on the team.

That's a rough scoreboard to wake up to. Well played India and Pujara.

So our all rounder bowled 4 of 210 overs. Wow. Wtf Smitteh are you trying to injure someone. Warner getting out isn't a surprise here. Might be worth dropping him and opening with Uzi or Smith for the next test. Maybe we could fly in Cowan.

Australia really should be drawing this. This is not a typical 5th day minefield imo. Only 5 wickets fell today and of those 3 were due to India trying to get quick runs. Umesh was immovable when he was deadbatting. It's not a mammoth task to dig in here. Only problem is Jadeja and the rough but even then there are only 5 left handed batsmen in the team. Australia's mental toughness could be the factor here.

The best thing Smith and Renshaw can do in the morning is to play not-panicky cricket and give confidence to those coming in.

Ooh. There is a list there somewhere I think and the most number of overs bowled is 96 or 98 iirc.

98 (Ramadhin in 1957) is the most.
Ray Price (79 overs in September 2001 at Bulawayo) was the last to bowl more than 77.
