Was never going to happen.

We could have flown Pattinson over instead of Cummins. He just took 5/7 to roll a top Queensland side (containing former test player Burns and ODI/T20 player Chris Lynn) in the shield. Got most of his wickets bowled/lbw too.
Patto would've run through us too, dude is a seriously good bowler

Amazing as it seems, Starc could face serious pressure for his spot if Pattinson keeps up his current form into the new Shield season. You can't claim X-factor as a reason picking him over either Pattinson or Cummins.
SMH at Australia's fast bowling reserves. Insane quality.

Yeah Starc is 4th choice test match fast bowler if Pattinson and Cummins are both fit.

Have a feeling we might see more pace quartet with Maxwell at 6 in the ashes. For the first time I actually think that would be a great idea (pitch dependent).

This must have been what it was like having Lillee in the team. When you're feeling the pinch and you look over and see the gun in the team champing at the bit to bowl one more having already destroyed himself for 20 overs in a day, you shut up and lift.

It's easy to get into a shell and play defensive cricket in such a situation, the batsmen must play every ball to it's merit.

Can't see Starc being under serious pressure unless fitness remains an issue into the new season, his last 100 or so test wickets have come at a low 20s average, his batting and his overall penetration as a bowler are special as well, was a match winner in a bunch of tests in 2016. Pattinson is a great backup option though and seems to have come back even better, as is Bird really who had a good summer too.

Starc/Cummins/Hazelwood/Pattinson. Ridiculous.

If this pans out and they're all fit, firing and competing for spots, it'll be the ultimate vindication of how the Aussie selectors and team have dealt with managing their quicks' development since McG retired too.

Lillee was too scared to tour India.

It's getting boring just how much Cummins brings to the team, tbh. For me, aside from his completely obvious world-class talents with the ball, notice how he brings others with him?
Yes, he does have a bit of a Keith Miller vibe.

Yea I'd definitely tune in to watch that Aussie pace quartet at work, even if it was a random warmup game in the middle of nowhere.

Just let Maxwell be the spin bowling allrounder.

Pujara has put away nearly every single bad ball I think. There haven't been many but he's been onto them throughout the day.
