Cummins really is pretty remarkable. Just amazing how threatening he manages to be on this surface. An excellent selection call too, given how much incredulity there was among a lot of fans and commentators about the idea of Cummins even playing a test next summer.

Starc might have been a threat too of course but it's rare to be able to replace such a big loss with someone who can make this sort of impact. 4 wickets out of 6.

Was never going to happen.

We could have flown Pattinson over instead of Cummins. He just took 5/7 to roll a top Queensland side (containing former test player Burns and ODI/T20 player Chris Lynn) in the shield. Got most of his wickets bowled/lbw too.

It's getting boring just how much Cummins brings to the team, tbh. For me, aside from his completely obvious world-class talents with the ball, notice how he brings others with him?

He tells you his body is feeling good, you pick him. Forever. Simple.

Amazing as it seems, Starc could face serious pressure for his spot if Pattinson keeps up his current form into the new Shield season. You can't claim X-factor as a reason picking him over either Pattinson or Cummins.
