Harbahajan blaming the pitch and saying that in his day they had to bowl on plate glass etc etc.
Question Bhajji, if this is the worst ever Australian team to tour (which is bull**** cause the last one was clearly worse) and the pitch was was so terrible 'anyone' could take wickets on it then how come they scored 285 between your countrymen's two sucky innings?

Also funny him talking about that you don't need to flight the ball on such wickets. I don't recall him being the biggest flighter of the ball himself.
Why are you paying any attention to anything Harbhajan is saying? the guy is and always has been a complete tool

If the scores were reversed in this game I guarantee he wouldn't be saying what he did about the pitch

Harbhajan has talked nothing but bollocks ever since it became evident Ashwin was going to leave him in the dust as a Test bowler.

Whatever it takes!!!
Wow... what a shocker of a match. That is a scorecard I would not have thought of even at my Gambhiring best. Well played Aussies. And congrats to all the non-crap posting aussie fans here. Your lot deserved the win just for the amount of sincere hardworking preps they had done for this tour. The amazing discipline to not follow the ball when being beaten on the outside edge, even when you have worked yourself into good form and some runs, was just mind boggling. This was even better than the self discipline and denial Sachin showed in the Sydney double hundred in 2004. I still maintain this is not a pitch you can justify scoring just 200 odd runs for 20 wickets. It was surely not that bad and as good as SOK was, our boys' intent of playing at the ball is what caused trouble here. Seems odd that they could not try and learn it even after having watched Australia exhibit how to do it successfully, twice.

But all said though, it was our fielding that I think cost us the match. Had we taken Smith at the very first opportunity and shown good catching throughout, we might have had to chase just 250 odd and who knows how the game would have gone then. The improvements that Ashwin and Jadeja have made as more rounded spinners for all conditions has caught them off guard on this wicket, funnily enough and the inability of Jayant to adjust also cost us, but it is extremely harsh to blame the bowling for this defeat. Batsmen had no business getting out for 105 in the first innings and that and the way we fielded when they were batting in the 3rd inning is what ultimately cost us the game.

It will be a good test to see how this side can take such defeats though, coz it is what defines character. I hope for a great series with India winning of course, but I am sure you will recognize it is not gambhiring anymore to state that Aussies are favorites to take the series after such a crushing and demoralizing win over the home team in conditions supposed to aid us the most.

PS: For the posters who keep saying I was gambhiring, should note that while I never expected the Indian batting to capitulate this bad, I have been saying since the thread started that the Aussie bowling line up has the most potential to test this Indian batting line up. I might have been gambhiring bigging up the runs Aussies might score but I was completely honest in my expectation that this bowling attack will expose our 5 batsmen theory and it has. I still think we should go with the same team, because honestly I dont think Karun Nair would have saved us any of this embarrassment if he was there ahead of Jayant, but I guess they will now play 6 batsmen.

And KL Rahul can just **** off. He needs to go out and get his body and fitness sorted before he gets selected in the team again. His difficulties cause the team unnecessary confusions and complications when there are enough already playing such good opposition. He does not field well, he gets injured way too often and is really not that special with the bat yet. Expect this side for the game in Bangalore:

Vijay
Mukund
Pujara
Kohli (C)
Rahane
Nair
Saha
Ashwin
Jadeja
Bhuvi
Umesh

With Mukund and Nair being decent enough part time options, that should stand us in good stead on a track I expect to turn at some point. It will be interesting too coz the ground is small and at that altitude, the ball does fly off the bat, so there are always a lot of 6s in store in Bangalore, but if the wicket itself aids spinners, it will make for some entertaining viewing. I will go for that even given the form of Renshaw, Smith, Starc, Haze, Lyon and SOK. :)

I am convinced that Bhajji is indulging in some reverse Gambhir-ing coz he just cant stomach the success this side and esp. Ashwin have had. He comes across as that kind of guy. :(

Nah.. this s not a normal defeat. This might have knocked all confidence out of Virat alongside his hubris. Can't see him or the team get out of this soon at all.

Our bowling was very very ineffective in the first Test against England (fortunately that was a road, and England were somewhat conservative with their tactics, letting us escape with a draw), and then we bounced back. Maybe I'm clutching at straws but I'm hoping they do the same here. Undoubtedly this was a defeat of epic proportions and their confidence would have taken quite a hit collectively.

I think the opposite. India could have lost the series in SL after the defeat at Galle but they came back and won the next 2 matches to win the series. I think they have character.

Better than England's preparation for India which consisted of playing two test matches in, ehh, Bangladesh (and making a dog's dinner of it).
