LOL everyone's piling in to troll India now. Expected I guess. Some people must have really suffered through the last 18 months or so.
And once again, I think Australian posters are just too surprised to really gloat properly right now

If we panic and do something like bringing Gambhir or Parthiv back as a specialist opener, I will lol. Rahul is fine though he is made of glass, deserves a few more chances considering the obvious talent that is there. Rahane's asshole clenches up so fast and so tight at the sign of good spin bowling and Nair should come in for him. Jayant should go back and improve if he wants to come back later. I would rather see Kuldeep in his place instead. And Ishant Sharma should be dropped for a batsman. The question is, who?
This.
Rahane and Jayant out.
Nair and Iyer? in

Do our batsmen play spin early? Do they rely on intuition rather than playing them at merit?
It might just be O'Keefe. His habit of fooling batsmen into playing for turn where there's none has netted him a shield average of 24 and many big hauls despite playing on usually quite unfavourable surfaces.

And Ashwin's batting is a concern too. Jaddu showed in one of the games against England that he can do a better job than him if given the chance. Jaddu batting ahead of Ashwin would be nice to see and would be awesome if it comes off.
Ashwin has been wayyy below par since the 4th Test against England. Even in the ODI series he was merely ok.

His batting has fallen along with his bowling form. Needs to go back to No.8!

Iyer just hit a "**** you!", double hundred against SoK but that track might have been different. Had some grass in it iirc. Wouldn't be a bad idea to get his input on how to play him at least even if he is not included in the team.

Ashwin bowled well, he's picked 7 wickets in this test! It's just that our batsmen were not technically equipped against spin that made Ashwin's figures look relatively mundane.

SOK's first innings performance is better than anything Warne ever did in a whole match in India
SOK's match performance is better than than anything Warne ever did in a whole match in his career
SOK's test bowling average is lower than Warne's average ever was

I suspect Warne was never man of the match in a test in India either

Ashwin lacked control in 2nd innings and bowled one too many boundary balls. Would've expected him to show the kind of control that SOK displayed.

I am predicting an angry celebration with a lot of swearing when Kohli tons up for the first time in this series.

Bonus points to Australia for ensuring that Nostrils keeps his place as well.

It's time to bring in Karun Nair, he's proved himself against spin. Except he may have a real hard time dealing with the pace of Starc.
