I wouldn't be too concerned. the players will get overconfident immediately and end up losing 3-1 comfortably.
For me if Aus can get over there love fest for Mitch Marsh and just accept they don't have quality batting all rounder and play the extra batsmen (maybe Khawaja, even if he`s not great against spin) their team is looking really good. Maybe a 3rd seamer option outside India a little bit of an issue, but not major.

Ashwin got both Warner and Marsh due to his BigBrain.
Yeah it was a real meeting of the MIND between those three.

I hope there's a battle of the wits between O'Keefe and Ashwin by the end of the series, brain vs brain.

Incredible day. Some notes:

1) SoK - Wow. What a way to announce who the best spinner in Australia is.

2) KL has a long way to go. To play that shot, in full knowledge that no specialist batsman is left, in full knowledge that he was the only batsman who looked like he would make a big score, to throw all that away, is just unacceptable.

3) Pujara got an absolute ripper. Kohli needs to tone down the self belief a bit. Starc and Haze opened India up.

4) SoK didn't look unplayable at all. KL threw his wicket away. Jadeja threw his wicket away. So did Umesh. Jayant was lazy. Jinks and Saha were proper wickets.

5) The only spinner who's looked unplayable is Jadeja. Ashwin got both Warner and Marsh due to his BigBrain. Great change of angle. Just slid those two balls in nonchalantly.

6) I don't know how much better India would do on a flat pitch since Australia's batting is clicking.

From what I saw, India just choked.

This is all true. Good post.

300+ run chases just don't happen in India. Unless we get another Chennai 08 style miracle, we're cooked. Kohli needs to just enter ODI mode tomorrow and hope for the best.

You are a Lyon hater?
Eh not really. I'm in the Daemon school of thought (ie) he's serviceable and pretty good but downhill skiis in games in which his pacers do well. Apart from Adelaide 2014, he's never successfully led the attack despite having the chances.

Hmm think I just give him more credit for being serviceable in Australian conditions.

On this pitch you require a very healthy slice of luck (apart from a lot of skill) to survive, and score runs. Will be interesting to see how Kohli and co. cope tomorrow if they can get a bit of a start.

social's posting is insufferable at the best of times. Lets just grit our teeth and let him gloat until the test is over.
Bad luck dude

You served this garbage up and now have to cop it till it's all over

I thought Lyon bowled really well tbf. Could easily have had Rahane a few times.
They all bowled well. Classic pack hunting. The pressure was never let off once mid off came up for SOK

I mean, Smith has spend the last few hours showing that, with a little luck, you can bat on this deck if you grit your teeth and earn your runs. Far from easy, and he definitely had the aforementioned work, but he did it. When it comes a total lottery and result and skill become totally decoupled, that's when it's a bad pitch IMO.
All you have to do is convince the opposition to keep dropping you and you are set.
