Sutton's 3G pitch is their finest asset. Be interesting seeing a big club play on it.
We've just put in a 3g pitch, not for playing but practicing. Doesn't have the bits that give you cancer luckily enough.

I agree but top level players moan about them constantly. Maybe a sign of how good the best grass pitches have got.
Yeah, I never really understand the rage about them, but perhaps that's right.

The only downside to them for me is that unless you play in tracksuit bottoms (or manage to avoid falling to the floor somehow) you will end up getting horrible burns all over your legs. Especially if you play in goal.

Surely they'd prefer it to most non-league pitches at this time of year.
Eh, dunno. Maybe.

I'm sure they won't trouble Arsenal, but Sutton are immense at home. They are the only team from the bottom half we have lost to. Their home record would probably be title-challenging form. It's like a non-league India away sort of situation. Just seems like players really struggle to adjust.

As I say, obviously Arsenal will be fine result wise - but it will be interesting.

Yeah it's definitely difficult to adjust between different surfaces, just because the ball behaves differently when it bounces. Makes sense that non-league sides would hate going there.

At amateur level the big difference is that you can trust a 3G surface enough to play out from the back. It changes the game completely, the big hoofball CBs that are invaluable on grass become worthless. Would expect that to suit Arsenal though.

Let in first and second goal of the year tonight, all down-hill from here.

Funny thing Troy Brown's goal tonight was the first one a defender has scored all season, perversely I was liking that record.

Not one for hyperbole, but honestly, given the context, that first half is probably the worst I've ever seen Arsenal play.

That was best I have seen Brentford play this season by an absolute mile, so good with the Hogan going to Villa thing.

Happy with the money we got and even I wasn't I would not really care because we have Jota and Canos back.

Sin-bin plan to be looked at by football's lawmaking body Ifab - BBC Sport

About bloody time. Of course it will be bad if you're getting yellow as you do at the moment for a mistimed tackle or actually going for a 50-50 ball where two people commit to it. It should totally be for all the cheap tactical fouls Spain got away with for 10+ years with their possession football and getting caught meant giving up a foul on the halfway line instead of being left 2 on 2.

Haha, good old scaly. Never afraid to take a good opportunity to whine about countries/teams he doesn't care for. Regular as clockwork.

Haha he is basically right though. Not that many of the teams that played Spain were any less cynical.

Also I doubt Spain's trademark cynical foul, straight after losing the ball, would be considered worth a sin bin.

Haha, yeah, I guess. It just struck me that it's not entirely out of the question that Beevs sits at home waiting for news items to appear that will allow him to take a crack at things he doesn't like.

For instance, I wonder what his reaction would be to some news item about a new umbrella being developed or something.

"Ah good, a new umbrella will help keep the rain off. Speaking of rain, the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain. ****ing Spain, I hate those ****s [insert long rant about Spain/Spanish footballers]".
